Exclamation HELP!!! A/C BLOWER WON'T STOP!!!

I need help guys!!!! my a/c all of a sudden started acting up, i turned off the switch and the engine but the a/c blower is still running and wont turn off, i had to take the blower fuse out from the fuse box just to make it stop but i tried putting the fuse back this morning without even turning the engine on and as soon as i plugged in the fuse the blower just started running again. What could be causing this????? Anybody???? HELP!!! Thanks..

You need a new blower regulator. Its a piece under the passenger side glove box which is a pretty easy DIY fix. We have instructions in the sticky thread as well.

I have a brand new one, OEM, in box if you are interested in it. Its been sitting in my apartment.

PM me if you would like to take it off my hands.

Can you give me the link to this "sticky thread"? I'm not familiar enough with the forum to find it. I have a 2000 C280 (41,000 miles) where this just started to day. I have removed the fuse, but it could get hot or cold and I would need it.

I don't know where the blower regulator thread is, but this explains where it is and how to do it. It's about a fifteen minute job.

Thanks for the link.
Will it be pretty much the same for my C280 (2000) or will I need to improvise. Also, my problem is the motor is still blowing with the car off and key removed. Same fix.

Having never seen it on a W202, I can't say. With a screwdriver and 10 minutes time, you'll know.

Finally got around to installing the part. It went smoothly even with my bad back. Took around 45 minutes including taking out the cabin air filter and vacuuming it for about 5 minutes. Thanks for the link and the advise.

Same problem but fix did not work...

Hi - I have the same problem, the blower wont stop even with the key taken out - replaced the part as suggested and it's still doing the same thing.

Any ideas for an altenative fix? My local indie is looking at it at the moment but he's a bit baffled - says the fuse is constantly live, is this right?

Thanks for any help/advice you can give me.

Simon
