Those a$$holes called me and tried to guilt trip me into resubscribing! I said "No."
She said "Why not?"
I said "Because I don't want to."
She said "But what if you were in a horrible accident? What then?"
I said "How dare you threaten me." and hung up. Great sales tactic .

While in most cases, hopefully none of us will never need it. But how would you feel if you're stranded somewhere and recently discontinued your teleaid service? By the way, does it work in zones where cell phones won't?

Mach430- Frankly I don't care. I don't want teleaid, as I told the woman on the phone.

I've used it twice, both times after an accident (pressed the button myself, never had an airbag deploy), and the damn thing gets about as good service as a cell phone. For one thing, neither time has their brilliant rubber ducky GPS thing given them the correct position of the car. Both times they were more than 3 blocks off, which isn't reassuring when they're supposed to find you in the middle of nowhere when you destroy yourself+the car (like the MB saleswoman threatened).

the only reason i subscribed to tele-aid was so that I could get rid of that malfunction on my display. I am not planning on renewing the service but my question is, does that blasted malfunction come back on?

Yes the malfunction will come back once teliaid is cancelled. You will need to take the car to your local dealer to have it turned off via the DAS laptop.

You can call the 1800# instead of using the teleaid system. it puts you through to the same people...

When my year is up, I'm planning to keep Teleaid active because I get a 15% discount 21st Century Car Insurance. While this doesn't cover the entire cost of teleaid, it substantially reduces the incremental cost of keeping it active.
