Need help with check engine light on a CLK430
OK newbie here and I'm trying to find some info on way my check engine light is on and how to fix. I did borrow a code reader from my friend and came up with the following codes;
PO173 Fuel Trim malfunction Bank 2
PO170 Fuel Trim malfunction Bank 1
PO130 O2 Sensor circuit malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1
PO150 O2 Sensor circuit malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 1
PO156 O2 Sensor circuit malfunction Bank 2 Sensor 2
PO136 O2 Sensor circuit malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2
I have done some research on this site and others to see if I can find the answer but no luck so far. I just don't want to go spend money on 4 O2 sensors if that is not the problem.
I bought this car a few years ago used no real problems at all and love the car.
It is a 2001 CLK430 cab made in 12/00 with 80k miles vin#WDBLK70G11T073079 and no engine mods that I now of.
Any help would be appreciated

The codes are VERY typical for a bad MAS Mass Air Flow Sensor. The chances of having all 4 of the O2 sensors go bad at the exact same time are ver slim to none. There was a guy here selling a brand new MAF for 150, I would get it and fix the problem.

i'm inclined to agree with gregory. since it's free, have you tried removing
and cleaning the MAF element with MAF cleaner? spray can costs about $10
or less. odds are against a simple cleaning but heck, for $10, i'd try that
first before the $100+ for the MAF insert.

make sure you buy a BOSCH MAF not some cheap ebay one, that can cause more problems. I got mine from here

Thanks
Alright guys thanks for all the help so far. I have cleaned the MAF and disconected the battery for an hour plus. This is not a daily driver but going to put a 100 miles on it and see what happens next, no check engine light at this time and about 50 miles on it so far after the above. Need to get it SMOGed this weekend so I hope this is a fix for atleast this weekend.
Thanks again,
Jack
