Windows up/down with key??
Greetings all!
I just recently bought a 2000 CLK 430.... my first benz!
I am already in love.
I have read the owners manual cover to cover and have learned a lot of interesting stuff about the car.
My question is:
I have read that while outside the vehicle you should be able to put the windows up or down by holding the lock/unlock button on the remote key.
I was given 3 keys with the vehicle. 2 "new" chrome ones and one valet type key.
I have tried to use all 3 of them to operate the windows from outside the vehicle but it doesnt work. Am i missing something? is there a way to get this functionality?

the signal is infrared so the signal is not very strong at all.
the only thing is that you cant use the buttons inside the car to get the windows up without having the key turned 1 click right.
so sometimes when your about to leave your car and notice a open window you can use this to close it without having to enter the car, putting the keys inn and all that

im not sure I held it for 10 seconds. The owners manual says 2 seconds, but I have held it for longer then 2 seconds and it still doesnt work.
I'll try holding it for longer and see if I get any better results.

The keyfob in the pic you posted is not the type that originally came with a 2000 CLK - maybe that's why you don't have the all windows+sunroof open/close functionality.

The summer open feature only works with the IR ( infar red ) out put of the key for saftey reasons ... you have to make sure you are pointing the key at the eye on the drivers door.
