top will not fully open

Question? I purchased a CLK430 and now the top does not fully open. The back opens and the rear window goes down and the top tries to fold and then stops. I hear a motor wining but nothing happens. The switch light does not blink.
Any helpful suggestions?

I agree. When it staarts to "struggle" ..just push the top up and see if it goes.

I have been told since by a MB dealer that the top on this model can not be lowered manually and it is a possible electronic or a hydraulic issue. I appreciate the helpful responses.

I'm not entirely sure that's true. If you have the owners manual. There are steps to raise or lower the top manually. It's not "easy" but it can be done.

All I was implying in my post was use the motor to lower the top and when the top begins to detract and sticks. Push the top up while still using the motor.

You should not have to push it to start it.

When I first got my clk430 I didnt have to. Now I just need to nudge it and it goes. Not a huge deal for me so I never looked into it any further then that.
