A few Head-Unit install pics

Sorry I never posted pics and they're not the best but here's the finished product.

This thing does everything you could possibly need.Nav, XM, phone ipod and I even bluetooth Pandora through my phone wirelessly.

I mounted the mic up top with no wires exposed. It really was not that tough.

Very Nice.

is that a 7" screen? i like how clean the Pioneer buttons are (all on the bottom)

you can probably run it flush if you have all the cabling going up (into the AC controls area)

Nice interior

Thanks guys, yeah its a 7" screen.

It is flush, I had no problem with stashing the wires and the lock screws are all the way in. The button row on the bottom has a lip that sticks out. It also has tilt which i usually have on level one (probably in the pics).

I'm contemplating a back up camera.

Thanks man, no its not.

This material is applied with a spray adhesive not 3m backing. I did it about two or three months ago and its holding up great.

One thing the W208 has got is a gang of space back there to stuff cabling and numerous boxes back there from pac to 2 different steering control boxes, no problem.
Glad you finally got that bad boy in Gundo looks clean that you even wrapped the plastic surround, nice touch. Sounds pretty good don't it even with stock speakers?

Did i ever send you that link how to mount the mic inside the top console?

Please post link on mounting the mic. I just got my alpine bluetooth with the mic installed but B/C of the mounting area I think I get a lot of residual road noise when driving and using the bluetooth. Where do you recommend would be the best area for install?

Thanks Gizzo, yeah man it sounds great using the pac 2, much louder as well.

You did send the link but I didnt want to mess with all that work. I use the phone all the time and as long as the windows aren't down people can hear me loud and clear!

Apparently, this is a newer model of the above... a couple hundred dollars cheaper too...

Is there start-up screen that you can load a MB Logo Image to flash? For a slight OEM touch

Yes, it's possible. It’s in the AVIC owners manual (page 66 but details are missing). I think you make a JPEG file (it has to be a certain size - 500x240?), put it on a CD in a specific directory(CD:/pictures ???), then use the system options screen to load an image from the CD. This will change the background. If power is lost, so is the photo. Double check this with a real Pioneer owner - like GiZzO. I'm an Alpine *****, but the new Android decks may change that.

A star? If you hit this Audi thread, you'll want a little more than the star. I'm trying to stay married, so Euro Audi ads are DEFINITELY off limits. That and I don't have an AVIC

Yep whatever picture you'd like. I got booty pics on mine
Image will keep if power is lost i beleive it installs to a rom, so will stay. Installs via USB or CD from the boot picture menu (media not needed after save). Theres a bunch premade already pretty sure i've seen one MB logo on a black background start here: www.avic411.com

Yes I use an MB logo and it looks great. Everyone wonders how I did it. It was easy I just put a jpeg on an sd card and uploaded via the sdcard slot right under the cd slot on the unit.

Looks great!

Nice work Gundo! Looking to do this same upgrade...

Guys, found this in dash unit online:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...k-PNX-721.html

Looks like it's priced right!

Has anybody else installed this on their CLK? Thinking of ordering...

Would be awesome to get some input.
