Extrude Hone
Anyone have extrude hone done to their car. It's a procedure in which the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold are removed from the car and then they are placed in a machine that basically smooths the internal metal chambers and makes them a little bigger. This allows superior air flow to the exhaust. And with a quality exhaust this should be able to add a true 30 at the wheel horse power. Plus whatever you would get from the exhaust.
I've talked to a local company where I live, the only one who can do this procedure, and they're so convinced that I will be impressed that they said they won't charge me until the job is complete and the car is dyno'd. If I don't get 30 horse they said that they would adjust the price accordingly. It should be around a $1000 for the complete job.
It sounds like a good deal but I don't want to tear my car apart for no reason. So if anyone out there has heard of this or tried it any input would be appreciated.

i would love to know if it works... the theory is sound..... but i guess it depends on how inefficeint the manifolds are as stock... maybe the evosport guys would know?

If you got 30HP I'd be shocked. A typical small block Chevy will gain more like 15HP. The Benz manifolds are certainly engineered more precisely, so the gains are sure to be less. I'd find out what the guy means by "adjust the price accordingly" and have it in writing before you go for it.

Well I had the procedure done........and I increased horse power by 18 horse at the wheel on a dyno that's based on torque. I tested the car also on an inertia dyno and the increase was 24 horse. Those number are relative however because each dyno tests differently but the results are the same. The percentage of increase was 10.5% at the wheel not bad for $600 Canadian. And with exhaust and a high flow cat it should be a nice over all increase. The company who did my work is Canadian base but their price chart is the same as the American company. So for you American's out there you would be laughing if you would send your parts into Canada. With the exchange you'll pay very little.
