Have problem finding Blinking Side Mirrors for 99 CLK!

I live in Queens NY and I just bought a 99 CLK 430.

I want to replace the solid mirrors with the new blinking style side mirrors.

I don't find these items on eBay, No aftermarket housing is available. Authorized dealers will not do it.

I found a certified Benz technician, he will do it for $1000 includes parts and labor, it seems a little bit high.

Can someone give me some insight how I can get this done for lower cost.

Many thanks!

Group buy

Maybe we can setup a group buy, if we can get many NYC 98/99 CLK owners go to the same mechanic, we can get discount.

When the mirrors on my '00 430 were stolen, it cost approximately $2000 to have them replaced- about $1400 in parts and the rest in labor. This was covered by my insurance and done at Downtown LA Motors. I think $1000 out the door is a steal, no pun intended. Let's hope that's not how the tech is getting the parts .

Check with Steve (MBenzNL), he's our resident Euro parts guy. If he doesn't have any, email me and I might know somebody in Europe for a lower price. You can get the ones that are 'foldable' option too that I've been seeing on the very new CLs lately.

His is not giving the entire mirror, he only mentioned housing and harness.

I appreciate everyone's courtesy and patient.

Everyone I talked to quoted me about $750 just for the housing and wiring parts(not the entire mirror). I think the price is a little bit too high.

I saw the aftermarket e-class blinking housing and wiring for $150 on eBay. What a big difference.

I guess I don't have much choice since there are no used or aftermarket parts available.

I don't feel those aftermarket E-class housings are very good quality. Others would disagree.

To get the OEM housings for the E-class costs quite a bit more... about the same that MBenzNL would charge for the CLK blinking housings. Did you ask him for a price quote? If you did, I think you would see it is quite a bit cheaper.

To get them fitted, you could have him do it, or whoever. Since you first posted your message, you missed two of his trips to the New York area.
