Borla muffler or Mangna flow muffler??
I am looking into both of these mufflers but heres my problem. I will put custom piping from the headers and performance cats but I dont want a loud car. I like the deep euro sound you hear from most high performance cars. So any ideas on which one of these two will give me that and wont make it sound loud or ricer???

99CLK320,
I don't think you are going to get a deep throaty sound from a V6 IMHO however, jump on youtube and you can search and hear a lot of different manufacturer's mufflers. What kind of headers did you install or are you referring to the oem exhaust manifolds as the headers?

I'm looking for a different muffler as well. Just got rid of the secondary cats. Does anyone know the part numbers for these two and what they typically cost. I'm assuming they are stainless.

There have been a lot of discussions regarding these two mufflers on the 209 forum, the general consensus is that Magnaflow is deeper, Borla has a slight rasp. I run Magnaflow on mine and it absolutely purrrrrrs, best sounding system I have had on any car.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Ya I have seen video of that brand and it sounds good Kevwood. Did you say this was a subject that was touch on, if so; which muffler did you guy all give ok on cause I know they have many and I want to avoid the ones that are just loud.

You'll find the part numbers on the second page IIRC. My new system has the Kleemann long tube headers and 100 cell cats (did this when I installed the supercharger and cams) with the same mid/rear section, it sounds amazing but a little loud (no drone though)

Hope that will help you out. Good luck.

dude kevwood has a supercharged v8, you have a 320 v6, you can't expect to get anything close to what his sounds like. he has double the hp you do, if not more. I just installed that Carlsonn Stainless muffler, and its sounds so nice and quiet but still noticeable enough to appreciate it. I tried recording a sound clip, but I need to edit the sound quality to here the exhaust you can only hear the engine and cold air intake. haa
