Power Seat Broken

My passenger power seat suddenly stopped working. All seat functions do not move the seat nor does the lever to gain access to rear seats.

I'm thinking this is something electrical. Anyone know where to start or where the fuse is for the passenger side seat motors?

Thanks in advance.

So the seat itself does not move fore/aft? Does the backrest move with the switch (not to gain access to the rear)? If just the fore/aft does not work for the actual seat, check the rear fuse box (by battery in the rear, under the spare tire cover). More than likely one of the 25A fuses are blown. If the fuse is blown, it means the fore/aft motor is starting to go (pulls too many amps due to worn windings), and will need to be replaced. Luckily the motor is available seperately, you use to be able to only get it with the whole seat frame.

Yes, backrest and headrest both inoperable. I'll check the fuses later. Are all seat movements on one fuse? I'm hoping the motor didn't give out. It was working great several weeks ago. Car only as 70K on it so it would be surprising the motor gave out.

Is the plug for the seat motors plugged in? Sometimes stuff gets under the seat and can cause the plugs for the motors to come undone/broken. There should be a seperate fuse for fore/aft, backrest. Do you have memory buttons for the RF seat? If you do, does the seat adjust when holding down any of the memory buttons? As fo motor life, mileage doesnt really come into play for them....more so the amount of adjusting them and or rear seat entry.

It's the fuse. If you keep blowing them, it's usually the motor. Do a few searches on this forum and you will see how to replace it.

Memory buttons do not work either, that's why I'm hoping only the fuses and nothing more complicated than that. I'll check them out this afternoon. Appreciate all the help.

Just checked fuses 8,9,17 for the passenger seat and none are blown. Also checked the plugs under the seat and all look connected. All switches are inoperable as well as memory switches.

Any other thoughts before taking it in for diagnostics?

99CLK320,
you may have to remove the seat to get to it but, you could hook a direct 12v power source to the motor to see if it even runs. also, if you do, smell the motor for a whiff of burnt electric.
