It is definitely Rallye. I had no idea there were other Long Islanders here.

 

Yes it is Rallye.. I picked it up today.. K3 Option package and CD Changer are the only add ons, leased it for $699/mo 39mos.. I hope I got a good deal.. I went to Helms Bros down the road and they wanted $725 for the same car. The dealer discounted it a little bit which was a shock... He claims 430's NEVER get discounted.. But it was an end of the month deal I suppose.. Lucky me..

Was hard watching a CLK 55 AMG pull out right in front of me also taking delivery.. lol But hey.. an extra $300 bucks a month in pocket..

 

What kinda wheels do you have on?

 

Those are the AMG 203s which come standard on 2002s.

I was shocked how hot the car really looked and the thought of it being mine was overwhelming.. What part of Loing Island are the rest of you guys from? In case I see some of ya on the road..

The same car down here in South Fl goes for about $850 per month with all taxes and NO discounts no money down just inception fees. Even with the tax you paid up front, guessing about 4k? you got a great deal. I'm assuming the lease was through MBZ Credit? Enjoy your car this is my 3rd Clk 430 and I can't find anything better for the money. And don't worry when the 03's hit the street it will be at least one model year before all the bugs are out

Rallye was a good choice. I bought my car from HelmsBros and have had so many issues with them. For one thing, they rip you off. The reason they do is exactly what they told you, they have the notion that Clk's are never discounted whether you buy, lease, or rent. In fact i was charged over msrp for my car, and being that i wanted it so bad i took it. I cant believe they are still saying that given market conditions and the economy. What a bunch of ****.

In addition to ripping me off the saleperson was rude and stuck up. He didnt really give me the time of day i actually had to take the initiative even with my serious intent to purchase the car. I dont know if his attitude was in part because i looked young or because he simply wasnt trained properly to expect younger customers. In any case, it was a pretty aggravating experience and i would have walked out had it not been because i wanted the vehicle that badly at the time.

When i got the car from them it was not preinspected and i had minor problems with it. I had to bring it back several times to fix squeaks and little defects, one of which included the sos button/service. I must have taken it back 3 times and everytime they claimed it was repaired it really wasnt.

Service is horrible, they never give you a rental car and you have to wait literary months before you can get your car in for the most minimal issues.

I finally moved to Manhattan in NYC and decided i would no long service my car at HelmsBro much less ever buy anything from them again. At one point i was so dissapointed with Mercedes quality and service i swore id never buy Mb again. Ultimately i realized it was Helmbros giving them a bad name. The Manhattan branch was a totally different experience. One that you expect from a name such as Mercedes Benz.

In retrospect i should have waited to purchase either from Manhattan Mercedes or Rallye ( I have purchased a lexus from Rallye in the past and they too have phenomenal service compared to that of HelmsBros).

Helmsbros is an embarrasement to the Mercedes name.

When I went to pick mine up, I stood outside admiring it before going in to sign the papers. A dealership person, who I later found out to be the sales manager, walked by and said "makes you smile just looking at it doesn't it?" I must have had a grin from ear to ear without knowing it!
