Hey guys, I'm looking to install a double din unit for my CLK430 but based on what im reading from these websites, it wont fit our cars, but i have noticed a few members with a double din screen setup. This is the head unit Im hoping to install: Pioneer AVHX1500DVD

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Pioneer+...skuId=7131073#

I would be grateful for any help. Thanks alot guys.

Thats a good unit but I would step up to the model with the built in bluetooth so that your can increase the usefulness of the unit. Having to use an aux cable to jack in is just too much clutter. Streaming dirictly from your phone is so much better. As far as the double din I will be doing this ver soon. And yes there is enought room for it, the only issue will be the intallation as there arent any premade harnesses as far a i know and i hope the some of the experts will chime in like simon. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks! Goodluck on your installation too. I'm in no rush to do it so I'm probably not gonna get around to doing it for a while but yeah I probably would end up going with the Bluetooth model. Thanks and please take pics of your installation if you get to it before I do and I will do the same if I get to it first.

I agree, i got the 2500bt, makes life so much simpler. When installing you need to cut out that median line in between the deck and sunglasses holder, and your unit will fit in with a standard cage. However, you're going to lose steering wheel controls. Also for some reason idk if the installer i saw was lazy or not, but he didn't put the parking break into the unit. Also make sure you get an amplified antenna adapter.

Double-Din fits like a glove. Need a dremel or small cutting tool to remove the plastic divider between the tape deck and the pocket underneath, otherwise, fits amazing and looks almost stock.

You will need this to do a clean install on a double din unit.
Amazon.com: Pioneer ADTVA133 2 Din Installation Kit: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Pioneer ADTVA133 2 Din Installation Kit: Car Electronics
If you do the steering wheel controls its really tough to fit everything behind the dash. You really have to jam it back there.
