State of the art or $2500 paper weight?

I'm still in the market for my first CLK and am having trouble deciding on whether I want the factory command/nav or not. Vote and tell me what you think!

I got the option b/c I wanted to have the CD in the dash rather than get the 6 CD changer and have to change it in the trunk all the time.
The nav looks nice too. However, if you want to watch DVD and have nav at the same time, then go for the aftermarket one.
If you want just nav, then go with the factory one.
just my $.02

01 CLK 430 Brilliant Silver/Ash K2a K3 K4 Comand Multicontours
definately get it

you have to see how it integrates the cd, telephone, navigation with each other and the instrument cluster display. you can have the street and arrows on the instrument cluster, while having the map on the comand and then when you change the cd the cd display overlays on top of the map. you can see who's calling you on both the instrument cluster and comand. also shows every gas station, airport and mercedes dealer on the map. there are alot of details that you may not know about until you own it.

definately play with on in real life, you'll definately end up getting one.

2018 E400 COUPE SOLD -> Porsche Taycan 4S
for $2500 you can get dvd rom based navigation. command system is cd-rom based nav (previous generation tech). i think its a rip.

COMAND

The navigation system is fun to use everyday, but it really comes in handy when you are in unfamiliar territory, at night, with no lighting and unmarked streets. I'll just say that getting lost is much more of a challenge.

So far it seems to be an overwhelming vote! Keep up the good comments as they are very imformative and I'm sure I'm not the only one benifiting.

Thanks guys!

I used mine in LA last weekend. Was following some friends to go to a party. Thankfully I got the address of the party first. I lost them in traffic, but NAV directed me right to the front door. And when it was time to return to San Diego, NAV found a fast route for me to get out of LA.

2002 CLK 55 AMG Coupe ;)
Command is best deal in technology for ONLY $2080 plus $140 for the USA/Canada navigation CDs.

I was skeptical & reluctant to get command.

I posted on this board and received lots of encouraging advice to get it for aesthetic and functional standpoints.

Now that I have it, can't live without it!

Go get it; Command is the BEST MB/Bosch option that is offered.

It's a nice thing to have. It looks nice and can show off sometimes.
