The Evo sport grill

I was looking at a picture of it on the evo site, but it looks like there's just a hole in the middle where the MB star goes--what up?

Let me post a few more pictures to clear up the confusion. The grill definitely has a star in it. It is actually a CL grill and CL Style Hood.

Do these pictures help?

Thanks,

Ben

The grill can only fit with the hood. They are part of the Expression Hood and Grill combo that cost about $2000 and i believe its made of fiberglass...

You can get the grill without the hood, but it won't do much good if you want to put it on your car . In person, the 2 hoods are quite different. Take your CLK and park next to a CL and do a comparison. The angles and curvature of the CL's hood are much more refined and elegant.

Those wheels on the bottom picture are my current track wheels.

We sell both, feel free to call me with any questions.

Thanks,

Ben

The grill is very nice! In truth I can't see the differences in the hood. I'm surev there are but lookig the picture the shape of the hood looks like the original one. Ben can you give us information about the diffrences? The original CL hood is different in shape and sizes, but this one has to feet in the clk end for me looks like the original one of clk. Thanks ben

It really is quite different. It fits the CLK and covers the engine bay, as any hood would, but otherwise there isn't much they share in common. Go park your car next to a CL, and look at the different curvatures and angles, you'll see what I mean.

Ok, comparing the pictures I can see that the grill is smaller in the CL hood than in the clk hood.
No doubt the best one is the CL one, unfortunately is a bit expensive and you have to waste the clk hood. . The only alternative looks to be big one on the silver clk, for a cheap mod.
Here there are the different grills picture I found. I will compare the difference in the hood next time I will see a CL.

Pictures 1 and 6 are the same hood & grill. Pictures 3 and 5 are also the same grill.

If you are just referring to the "big star grill" then it can be found here, but if you are talking about the smaller grill that Mach430 has, you will have to do a full conversion to the CL hood and grill.

The radiator emblem is the Flat Hood Ornament and not the center star in the grill. It does come with the center star but if you want the Flat Hood Ornament, pictured below, it is $22 from them and probably cheaper on eBay. This is to replace the upright star and not to be confused with the center star for the grill.

All of the grills that have a star come with the star. I believe the reason it is not always shown by the aftermarket company is because of licensing/trademark concerns.
