How is the ride quality on 19" wheels

Currently have 17" wheels. Was going to go to 18"s HOwever everone on the board seems to think 19"s are the way to go.

How does the ride feel on 19"s? I head it feels kind of rough and you have to worry about every bump in the road as you could easily damage your rims.

I thought mine was pretty bumpy with Koni adjustable shocks and H&R springs . . .

Depends on the quality of the roads in your area. Personally I have 18s and the ride is definitely a bit harsher and pot holes already did the necessary damage. Some gave me scares but the rims were still intact. With 19s I'm sure I would have had to replace my rims a lot more frequently. I live in the NY Metro area so the roads are pretty bad around here. Running 16s now, moving back to my 18s in about 2-3 weeks.

I also have been thinking of going from 17 to 19' but my only problem is when I did it with my BMW I kept bending rims. It got a little costly.

Hey Bruce...I'm that Junior kid, i e-mailed you before, at LHHS that was going to get the CLK (waiting to see the 2003)...remember me? I'm friends with Andrew Kim. Anyways...I never see your car because I park in overflow...hehe, park your car right in front of the school on the side part one day so I can check it out. I heard your new 19 ----- (I'll keep it a secret from that other guy on the board) are bad ***. That's what I wanted to get...where did you get them? I know those are some serious $$$ that's why I want to know where and what kind of deal you got.
Thanks

Hey I remember you As for the wheels, they're pretty darn expensive ! You can check them out in the front parking lot, but please keep the secret for me until my car is done. My friend just got 20s for his 740il and his gf just got 19s for her 01 325ci, there's also a 97 s320 with 20s. Good luck on your new car !

Hey...is the 740il Weber's mom's car? And yeah, I know about the S320 with 20's...I've met Eric...he's a nice guy, my bro has the same wheels he has, but 18's. And don't worry, I will keep your car a secret. Good luck on all your future mods.

So how big are your rubbers? haha...

no seriously, what size tires do you have on your 19s? I thought you had to go 30 in the rear 35 in the front with CLKs.. will 35 in the rear 40 in the front fit?
