2001 CLK 430 w/5.4 swap, 2000 CLK430
Non US members please help. Need a part. None in US

I need help locating an oil pump for my engine swap. vip320clk and I have searched tirelessly here in the states and there simply aren't any available. Worse yet, one would have to be manufactured in Germany and it will be weeks if not months before it can be delivered. I'm taking the BAR exam this summer so I am in a time crunch here and cannot wait months. So I turn to you guys. If any of you are live anywhere but the US and are willing to call your dealer for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

PM me and I can give you the part number/models and years it came in.

Thanks for the recommendation. Gave them a call but no luck yet. He's going to call around to some places and see if he can find one as well. The problem I keep running into with people who have the used correct used engine is that they aren't willing to sell such a critical component. So I know there are used pumps in the US, but I don't have $4000 to buy an entire engine for one pump that I only need half of. That's the kicker, I don't even need the whole pump!

What engine swap are you performing? The M113 pump should be available everywhere.

I have seen them on many parts vendors lists.

A part number for fuel might yield results.

Best of luck on the bar exam, I prefer toppless bar exams myself.

Cheers, Gator

I am putting in a 2003 clk55 engine into my 2001 clk430. Requires taking two different oil pumps to make a hybrid pump that fits in the 430 pan. I plan to do a write/up build thread explaining it in detail once this is all done. But at this rate, that's still a few months away.

I have been there done that on a mustang. I ended up custom fabbing a pan out of the two engines and the sump as well. These were steel pans though. (easy to weld)

Other option would be a pan from a W208/55 I would think they are compatible. as a final resort a dry sump with external pump could be done but a lot of home engineering.

Looking forward to the write up. Was considering swaps for the W208 with the newer twin cam engine.

Cheers

Hey Gator, the lower pan (1120100628) and the upper pan (1130140102) are shared between the W208 55 and the 430. The problem is the oil pump. He’s got a W209 55 engine. The sump in a W209 is in the rear. I’m going to guess that’s due to the steering rack. The oil pump in his current 55 (and its pickup) are designed for the W209’s rearward sump. If he could get a W208 55 pump, part number 1131800401, he could use that with the pan from his 430. He can’t use a 430 pump because it won’t physically bolt up to the 55 block. There is a workaround using half of one 55 pump and half of another, resulting in a 55 pump with the right pickup.

This has me wondering if a 430 pump will fit a standard 500 block – which has always been what I thought I’d buy if the 430 ever died.

Correct. Also worth nothing that while the 430 pump will physically mount to the 2003 55 block, the oil port is about 1/2 inch off. Here's a couple pictures to illustrate the problem:

According to Blackbenzzz the same is true for the 2001 CLK55 pump. He solved this issue by using the front half of the 1131802501 oil pump which was available in 2003 - 2006 S55 and CL55s. Over the weekend I think I might have located where they crushed the "several black mercedes" from Furious 7. Those who have seen the movie might have noticed that those Mercedes could be the G55 and also the S55. Hoping the S55s weren't just rebadged s500s but who knows. Will be calling that salvage yard in the morning.

Oh and Marcus, as for your question about the 500 block, I have seen numerous pumps on ebay for the 2003+ S500 and those pumps appear to be almost identical to the 430 pump. For reference: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-2006-MERCEDES-S500-W220-ENGINE-MOTOR-OIL-PICK-UP-PUMP-OEM-1131810020-/191543586206?hash=item2c98e32d9e&vxp=mtr
