Steering wheel buttons
Has any one successfully gotten the steering wheel buttons to work with their aftermarket stereo? I have a clk55 and upgraded the stereo to a kenwood stereo and got a pac swi-cp5 to control the steering wheel buttons but after hours of tech support we still can't get it to work. Thoughts?

Hi, I provided los of info to a similar question, check this link and it should all be on there. Let me know if you stil get stuck.
Summary: You need both the PAC SWI and CAN BUS module to work together (details and compatible devices are on the PAC website, also on the link above I think. Then you programe, once you know how its easy, but it can be confusing to start.

Thought I'd follow this to see what comes out in case it helps me too!
I bought an Aerpro Connects2 for my CLK, unfortunately the wrong model (a CTMSC002.2). So I went ahead and bought the model the tech recommended for my 2001 model - the 006.2 model. Plus patch lead and connector blocks..
A few weeks later and I'm yet to find success. It won't power up my new Pioneer at all. I've tried my original Audio 10 unit and it works perfectly, including the steering controls.
I'm still emailing my tech guy in the hope there's a solution, but the list of things to try is getting very short now..

$650? Maybe prices have gone up, but that's a lot of money for a multifuntion wheel converter. Below is what I paid. $67.50 for the Benz side and $75 for the head unit side. $15 was for the Bose converter.
@gottspd - my steering wheel buttons worked since the original install - 8 years ago. The setup was pretty simple and my headunit side (SWI JACK) works with JVC/Alpine/Clarion/Kenwood. I'm guessing you have a CAN2 on the Benz side, but I'm unclear what the CP5 is for. I know it connects to cell phones, but does it sit between an aftermarket HU and a phone? If you're just installing a Kenwood HU, shouldn't you have an SWI-RC? Wasn't that the replacement for the SWI-JACK?

Depressed now. The tech guys thinks I need a different harness - the CTSMC003.2 as my CAN speeds might be different? Argh!
In a moment of foolishness, I grabbed the original Audio 10 and slid that back in, forgetting the radio code is written in marker pen on the top (and different to my radio card). And I don't have any keys to pull it out. D'oh!
Tomorrow I might just put my windows down and put my foot down, and make my own music...
