Help please
2002 Mercedes Benz convertible CL K430 , Put my key in went to my brothers house car started Great , I actually had bought a new key about 4- months ago, got to my brothers House locked the car with the key went in the house came back out unlock the door with the key and it wouldn't turn, started making this noise and it said remove the key , I removed the key turn the other way and inserted it did the same thing making this noise then I remove the key again Flip the key the other way put it in the same thing happen , it will unlock the car , open the trunk but it will not turn the ignition. So I actually went and got my old keys and it did the same thing ☹️ If Anyone has experience this please any suggestions would be great ! thank you

OK I'll give that a try , I really appreciate your fast response , I just couldn't believe it I walked into my brothers house stayed for a few minutes came back outside and turn my key and it wouldn't turn .I'm on my way back to my brothers house and give it a try and I'll let you know if it works thank you so much .

Didn't work
I tried disconnecting the battery for about five minutes when I re-connected the battery back up nothing the key still wouldn't turn. I actually took some alcohol clean around ignition and clean The key which my key is brand-new I bought it about two months ago, even tried the old key nothing I don't know if it's some type of relay or fuse I need to check if anyone knows your help would be appreciated. thank you

I have a 2002 Mercedes CL K4 30 convertible about two months ago I had a new key put in because the key would not turn they said they had to order me a new key and they did so and next thing you know I came up to something else and up costing me $1500 after I get my car home not no more than three weeks it did it again and I noticed on my receipt they double charged me so I had that double charge canceled and I was trying to find out do they have the power to disable my key sold it doesn't work at my home do they have that power that they can do that someone please let me know. Weird....I ended up buying a motor off amazon for the ESL and taking apart the steering column.
When I got to the ESL, it was unlocked. Weird because I was unable to turn the steering wheel.
Anyway, replaced with the new $12 motor. Plugged back in to test, car still doesn't turn on.
Now troubleshooting. Wondering if it's the EIS.
