Got my Springs installed last Friday!!!

After a month of searching, I finally found a place to install my springs with low price. I drove to Vermont the next day to test them out. They are so great that I love my car even more

Lbenz1375, did you also change you shock? Improvment of the springs was less than I expected.

No, kept the stock shocks. what improvement were you looking for exactly?
for looks, i think the improvement is good. for better handling, i would recommend changing your shocks.

looks nice. if the car feels stiff, then just stay with the stock shocks. if you want it more stiff then i recommend changing to bilstein setup. or the much talked about kleeman speed sensitive setup.

I am looking for better handling. I think it's low enough. Will my car be lower if I change the shock? I am thinking of Bilstein shock also, but I will wait for couple more weeks to see if I really need to change it.

Saif,

That was me the other day. How did you recognize me? I saw you too cuz I only know one blue CLK55 around Boston (your car looks great!!!).

JamE55,

The ride is still comfy with the new springs and the handling has improved a little bit.

How much should it cost?

The local shop in Austin TX wants $4-500 bucks to install springs, is that crazy?

RickyG,

It costed me $200 to install my springs. $4-500 is rip off. I went to one place and the guy asked for $450, I just left and never go back to that place.

Looks good sorlo. I installed H&Rs on my 430 a few weeks ago. The MB dealer charged me $275. I kept the stock shocks and I'm happy with the change in handling. The ride is definitely more harsh but not unbearable and I appreciate how everything is more "alive" feeling. The worst trade-off is I drive faster and maybe a little more aggressively than before I changed the springs.

ahmed,

RickyG is from Austin TX (US), I was just hoping he could pay less since he lives in the states. Just trying to help here.

LOH,

I have to agree with you that I drive a bit more agressive after changing the springs (and reckless enough to hit a BIG pot hole a few days ago).
