My Lorinser CLK wi/ 18" AMG Monoblocks

Its a non-lowered (still contemplating) 320. I'm not sure about lowering because I want to keep the ride comfort. What do you guys think? Enjoy....

You have a nice car there. If you dont want to change the spring, maybe try to change the spring pads to #1, depending on which spring pads you have on the car right now, it might lower it up to a quarter inch.

I wanna get those exact same wheels for my silver 1999 CLK 430.

Where did you get them from and how much did they run you?

thanks.

thats one hot looking car... i like the Lorinser DTM kit more, but, to each their own... the classic Lorinser kit looks good too.

I think you need to definitely lower the car just a little... maybe 1.2-1.5" and it would look perfect. Don't worry, you won't sacrifice much ride quality. As long as you don't go to 19s or anything, your ride shouldn't change much at all.

Nice Car.

I was thinking of going from stock 16s to 18s too. So there isn't much difference in ride comfort. going to 18s?

Sir I just went from 17' to 18' and to tell you the truth, the ride is better, maybe because I switched from Pilot Sports to S03's.

Funky102 If you lower your car and don't change the shocks, you won't affect the ride comfort.

Thanks for the compliments, glad you liked it.

I'll look into changing the spring pads and see how much that lowers the cars. The drawback there is the cost for installation. I would think the price for installing spring pads would be the same as installing springs/shocks since the procedure is very similar so if I might as well have the whole setup of spring/shocks. I hope the ride difference won't be that great, as Danny said, if I go with the full setup.

Sir, there is a slight difference in ride comfort but I don't think its that bad. As theine mentioned, the choice of tires plays a big factor in ride comfort. I went with Danny's recommendations of Toyo's and they ride great, better than my Yokohama's AVS ES 100. Also, air pressure plays a factor. I have mine running at 35 psi rear and 33 psi rear.

theine, lowering the car (assuming you mean changing the springs) and not changing the shocks will cause the shocks to get blown faster, as lots of people have mentioned on the board.

That's correct, but the ride will be smooth, that's the price you'll have to pay if yoy lower it with springs. With pads only the max you'll be able to lower the car will be between 1/2 to 3/4" depending on your current setup.

Nice!

The body kit is clean and classic, great choice. The Monoblocks fit seamlessly and I beleive it when people say it makes for a better ride than the 17s!
