Talking About time!

It seems lately that the 1-2 negative people who have access to this board have been posting enough for about 179 people!

There are many great, positive stories out there about MBZ.

I have a 2002 CLK 430, with NO PROBLEMS. I have had it for 1 year and 2 months and it now has 15,000 miles on it! It runs like a velvet rocket and the quality has been outstanding.

Since I bought it, I put on BRABUS sport springs and AMG Exhaust, with tinted windows and the car looks absolutely stunning.

I was looking for the perfect blend of power, looks, sportiness, all wrapped in a luxurious package and the answer was the CLK 430.

Well, now that I have had all of the work done to get my W208 where she should be, I am hoping for some smooth sailing! I just think that sometimes people treat thier cars like sh*t and wonder why they fall apart. I have to say that my W208 drives like no other car I have ever had the pleasure of driving!

Yes, I know they are out there, I have only had mine for about a month but is the coolest car ( Class & Performance )I have owned and I have had--911 Targa--3 Corvette--2 Z cars--Lexus--and many more, I have gotten more looks in this than any of the others, the other day a young man in his 20s, said hey man thats that James Bond car isn't it ? I said thanks, but that was a Aston Martin, but Iwill take that as a compliment, WAAAAAAY COOL

i get compliments on my car wherever i go now....even with the replica RS kit and replica VI rims...LOL. anyways, the only bugs my car has had since i bought it with 4000 miles have been the front 2 o2 sensors, MAF sensor (just recently), A/C, sunroof, and sun shade. Nothing majorly wrong, and I just hit 83K miles. Ever since i got the car back from the dealership last month , replacing the MAF, my car drives faster than it ever has. =)

I haven't had mine but about a month, but I have had 1-corvette, and 2-BMW's, one of which we still have. I have been a long time BMW fan, but I plan on keeping my CLK for a long time. Thus far, I have had a blower motor replaced, but it was under warranty. I agree with the others, much of it depends on how well you take care of your car!

I agree 100%, there are people out there that have had great experiences with MBZ's and I am one of the many!! I have had my CLK430 for 2 years and just turned 18k miles. I have not had one problem with the car, except for the Check Engine light coming on after I didn't put the gas cap on tight enough!! Other than that one incident, the car has been completely reliable and no head aches whatsoever!!! That is one asspect that makes it a little difficult to give up, you never know what the next one will bring, but that is half the fun.

I have a 99 CLK 430 and couldn't be happier. Yes, I always want more things but, as the car itself, I LOVE IT. I have had a BMW and while I am a BMW fan, nothing is like the styling and power of the 430s V8.

As for problems--2 things:

1. MB owners are probably the pickiest, choiciest, hardest customers in the world to please. Face it, even those who can buy the Ferraris and Lamborghinis, they don't drive it as a regular car as we do with the MBs.

2. Having said that, of course it is how you treat your car, is where MAJOR MAJOR problems begin and end! You significantly reduce the odds of the $8-10K repair happening when you aren't screwing with the original engineering. How many times do you see a perfectly good ricer sitting on the side of the road, steaming and pissing on itself, just because some knucklehead thought he knew what he was doing? Mods are one thing...reengineering is another.

I love my car. My wife loves the car. My neighbors love the car.

How about this one for positive MB story...I was getting a car wash and there was this HOT girl with her boyfriend in a Porsche also getting it washed. I was there just chilling and the whole time she was checking my car so hard he was getting annoyed. I dont know if she was checking me out or the car but was staring to the point where it was RUDE

this really does turn heads and is only outdone by the new SL or CL. I love the car but only if it came in stick

I have had my 01 CLK 430 for about a month and a half. I came from a BMW and sold the car due to a clunking in the drive shaft that I had to bring to the dealer no less then 4 times. Finally they said that was just the way it is. I told them my wife and I both own BMW's and this kind of attitude was disappointing. I acutally sold my 3 coupe and her 3 sedan within a month. Add to that that BMW's new designs are boderline appauling. I can say I love my CLK, no problems whatsoever and the dealer experience is second to none. No questions asked if I when I did needed my wiper blade replaced and a broken visor, done on the spot. So we are still looking to replace her sedan, but she insists on an Acura MDX.

I've had my car for almost 1.5 yrs, and my car has been in the shop almost 8-10 times... sounds almost like an ML by looking at that number...

But, my car being in the shop was my choice... not that anything was wrong... I just exercised my warranty rights to get things replaced as they were worn or showing signs of wear...

the only major problems I had were:
- broken cat converter
- malfunctioned passenger seat controls (passengers fault for spilling cup of hot coffee all over seats/floor/console/electronics)

My most recent proud moment in owning this car came when I parked my car in front of the building elevator where there is a camera (i'm paranoid of people stealing my license plate)... anyways, after i parked, went up to work, then came back down to get something from my friend's car, and on the way back to the elavator, i saw this hot hot chick slapping her face all over my car, taking a peek at whats inside & out...

I shoulda just gave her the grand tour of the backseat... but, i'm a married man now... must behave...

2003 CLK Convertible
Have had my 2003 Convertible for exactly one year and one day. I remember not only because I have enjoyed every day I've owned it (100% problem free) but also because I got an email from the dealer wishing me a happy anniversary , also a letter in the mail from the salesman wishing me a happy anniversary. I got a long stem red rose on the seat when I took it in for an "A" service (my wife loved it) and got a dozen long stem red roses when we bought it (she loved those even more). Not only do we get comments on our color (quartz blue/blue top) but tons of looks and comments all the time!!!
I love the car , Mercedes in general and my dealer Auto Steigler in Encino, CA. A class act all the way around!!

CLK 430 1999
I have only had my '99 CLK430 for about three weeks now, but I am amazed how much this car has done for me and my overall well being.

I don't think I've ever been in a car that has got more looks and head-turns than this one (especially from women), it is a muscly gentlemans car. Its looks turns women on, simple as that.

Two days ago I had this important meeting, and I had trouble finding the office where the meeting would take place. (I have a navi, but didn't have the address) I talked to the (old strict suit manager) guy on the phone and he went outside to show me where to park etc.

First thing this strict older (60y or so) guy said was "Wow! I LOVE your car. What an incredible sound, what is that?!?" Then we spent 15min talking cars, he was a major MB fan himself and probably knew more than I do. The rest of the meeting was a total success and the outcome will probably earn me enough money to get a few more CLK's ;-)

All in all, a good investment!

/Martin

I must agree, I have never gotten so much look before, I live on an Island and this is the only clk on the island although they are other MB, but everyone classes mine the best looking on the island. eyes pop wide, mouths drop and fingers start pointing when I drive by. One person even thought I was a basketball star driving by, SWEET, and the ladies, I no longer talk, they just come. I LOVE IT.

I am a very happy owner, never a problem that couldn't be fixed under warranty, usually minor. The last one happened after I installed the C32 AMG brakes, the ABS & ESP lights start flashing on and off on the dashboard, I took it to my dealer and they replaced the brake switch sensor. It gave me time to peek at the SL55 in the showroom.

As much as I have enjoyed owning Mercedes-Benz cars for the past 14 years, it is the people in the MB community that have enriched my ownership pleasure!
