Pics of Alpine Navi. No 56K

Just found out POIs can display on the map while you're driving

by the way it might be up for sale if my friend doesnt want to buy it

this when you zoom out

Wow Im only 491 miles away from Ohio

this is when I zoomed out

check out how you can play with the frequency and how much boost you need and how tight

Damn, that's pretty slick.

I was not sure what all the fuss was about nav, but that looks fairly useful on a day-to-day basis.

Does it do a GPS based vehicle speed ?more accurate than the car's speedometer?

it all depends on how close you zoom, when I took the Benz to New Jersey I was doing over 100 and I zoomed in and the arrow was covering much ground looked like I was flying in a plane

here is a small video of the POI in action and dont mind the music it was the radio and didnt even notice what was playing

You ever think that the GPS could be intercepted in some way and the cops could record how fast you are going?

Either way that looks cool as I'm having trouble deciding between an Alpine unit and the COMAND retro.

I suppose they could. The feds have already used Tele-Aid to secretly listen in on converations held inside the car.

thats whats great about aftermarket navi it doesnt pinpoint to the registered owner of the car. OEM navi will be able to trace the owner of the car and where it is traveling, which is really scary.

It's not navigation (COMAND) that traces you, it's Tele-Aid.

That's one good reason to drive a 99 CLK, no Tele-Aid
