CLK's on the car show scene

Greetings:

In an attempt to create a CLK that will battle against the other Euro cars out there (a la M3's, various Bmw's), I would like to just gather some pictures/ideas/input from some of the members here. In the past three or four shows which I have visited I have seen an overall under-representation of MB's, and more specifically w208 Clk's.

So, without further ado, any suggestions on exterior/wheels/custom etc. will be great. For the ICE part of things I've got it all covered as that is my area of specialty. I don't want to go with any custom paint scheme b/c this is still a daily driver. Anyone have pics of modified Clk's? I did go through the stickied thread, but only found a few which met the criteria that I am looking for.

It would be nice to see some winning MB's on the show scene--not to say there aren't any, but it would be great to see some more.

Hoping to gather some input:

Ravi Mohan

LowRyder - Bruce ( You know on tirerack.com how you can look at a car click the image and see the rims on that car....... well freakin this guy goes through so many shoes on his car I don't have to do it.)

Josh K - very clean! What I want to lean towards with my car.

slowsupratt - from the link above, nice sound setup.

These guys cars are very nice.
There are a few others here but these three I'm pretty
much stuck on.

- it frustrates me....

yah, there are not too many benz on the show scene compared to the bmws. but there are lots of W203s and W209 that are starting to come out to the show scene.
Lorinser W209

Brabus W209

Widebody W203 C32

Thanks for the primary information guys. Tirerack is cool, but somewhat archaic for its purpose--I'd much rather photoshop it.

Those w209's are clean, but still not exacty what I'm looking for (w208). The c class is probably becoming more apparent because of its entry level pricing, followed by the w209 because it it is a new platform. I'm kind of torn between getting an M3 still, but there were literally so many on the scene already that it seems like I need the MB more for originality purposes. We all know a show car encompasses many different aspects in order to win, therefore I would like to see what is already done in order to build on that.

Josh K.'s car as well as Bruces are definitely a direction I am trying to follow/build upon. I also like Felix's old car, so I definitely have seen a few things. imemikey, could you post some high res shots of your car?

Keep the ideas coming, they are much appreciated.

Best Regards

Ravi

if you expect to win, with your CLK, out of experience and knowledge in this industry, you need to drop lots of money. In talking about about $15,000+ easily. keep in Mind, european cars or so called DTM products or much more expensive then JDM. My last car was JDM, and it took me about $15,000 to complete the show car. Im about to spend up to $15,000 on my benz, and still needs a lot more work. I know people that drop $15,000 alone on just the sound system. So yes, to be the best one out there, its a lot of hard work and LOTS of money. If you notice the C32 picture from car and model, that car has actually won many awards. You really dont want to know how much time, erffort and money this person has dropped on his car. Neverless, this is the reason whey I love his car soo much and respect everything he has done...

So, basically, its tought. Just be creative and do what you like think looks good, cuz everyone has there own taste. Good luck with your car.

D42 and Samoan_Ridah thanks for mentioning me, my car is not a show winning car but I tried to make it look as clean and tasteful as much as I can. I used to go to car shows but after a year of showing I'm now sick of it. I'm planning on selling my car so if you're looking to buy lemme know. There's a lot of nice cars on this forum so take a look at every car and maybe do a mix of things that you like.

Here's a recent moving shot my friend took, it's not the best picture but this is the only moving shot I have. If you want still shots do a search there's a bunch, I don't want to ***** pictures, everyone has seen my car a million times.

Thanks everyone for the constructive info. I know success takes time, and especially money (in the show car scene). $15k is absolutely understandable--this isn't going to be the first car that I have touched let alone modified. I think I could easily spend that much on ICE.

I'll know exacty which avenue I want to travel in about two weeks--I'm still toying with the idea of going with a pure sports car rather than the luxury sports. If I do go ahead and get the CLK, I'm pretty sure I will have to get a sportsbike soon.

Hope to be a part of the family soon--I've seen a grip of cars from Europrojektz, TWC, Ekslusiv etc. hopefully soon I will have a trophy winner on my hands.

BTW you guys can email me at ravimohan2003@yahoo.com or mohan@mohansintl.com

The monetary aspect of things is not an issue--its more or less the lifestyle.

Regards;

Ravi
