Did your roll bar deploy and become stuck in the raised position while operating the roof or an unintentional activation (e.g. such as an accident or avoidance of one, hard impact with a pothole, curb etc.)?
By reset, was that by pressing the dash roll bar switch and holding it into the up position for at least 10 seconds, until the roll bar drive mechanism audibly engages, then pressing the switch to lower the roll bar?

Twinkle......it would require significantly more than a tap on the bumper for the mechanical system to extend your roll bar.
if it's in good working order, you should be able to lower an extended roll bar, as I suggested, just using the hydraulic system.
Alternatively, it's a PITA, but the roll bar can also be reacted manually.

Here's the thread that explains how to manually lower the rollbar.

Lol. Thanks again, I took a look at it last night. Will take car to my mechaniic to take a look at it. Headreast were up when i bought the car, so he is familiar with to time consuming task of manual retraction. I'm sure these steps will make it easier for him. Have a great day
