RS kit

Just picked my RS kit up today. Not pleased. I guess you get what you pay for. After 2 mths and $200.00 extras in custom/port fees, I should have left the kit where it was. Broken corners, foglights and thin fiberglass....the deal was a wash. Money down the drain. Don't know if I will try to install it or not.

Replica kits are not simple bolt on kits. They require professional work/shaping and installation by a good body shop.

I know you're frustrated, but take it to a body shop first. They can work wonders.

It's not the fitment...It's the fact that I had to pay hidden charges plus the fiberglass is very thin and it's damaged. Paid for foglights and their broken....

eeeesh, that does suck. Sorry to hear that man. On the upside, fiberglass is very easily repaired and strengthened. For foglights, you can pick up ones like mine from pep boys for about 60 bucks and they're made by Hella.

Not true, ive installed a few replicas and they fit great and the material is better than that of the original company.

What's funny is that the RS replica does fit better than the real kit. (I've seen real CM60 RS's up close at car shows). ;0)

I purchased my kit from the same retailer. I did, however, have quite a bit of body work done to make the kit fit perfectly.

make sure you bring it to a reputable body shop because they will need to modify the heck out of it to make it fit on your car. If you have any questions, just e=mail me. I went through hell when i bought my kit........

I want a kit for my 1999 clk320. It really needs one...kinda looks ugly without a kit. What is the best one to go with if money is an issue and should i even think about gettin the replica rs kit? Is it worth the hassle? THanks

Still working on the kit. The custom shop owner says the fiberglass is so thin he's going to figure out a way to reinforce the kit. I will have to post pics of the kit so you guys can see what I'm talking about. Depending on the cost I may look into another type kit. ( save money for the real deal lorinser dtm ).
