To those of you who have Pirelli P7000 tires

I have 18x8.5 rims with pirelli p7000 tires on my car. The sizes i believe are 225-40 all around.

ok. the problem that i am having with the tires are that they squeel all over the place when im making turns. even when im in a parking lot and just turning into a parking lot at 5mph. is there something wrong with my tires?

ps they are relatively new tires and still have plenty of thread.

You've got a GREAT tire. Check it out at

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/pirelli/pi_p700z.jsp

"The P700-Z is an ultra low profile tire for street use. Available in a wide range of sizes,
it's designed for the latest generation of prestige sports cars. The P700-Z offers
exceptional performance in all conditions and particularly remarkable cornering and
braking characteristics. The wide grooves make for better water expulsion, resulting in
exceptional resistance to hydroplaning."

they squeel because they are performance tires and those types of tires have a lot of grip....the squeeling is not due to the tire giving out at 5mph but the grip it has on the slippery floor of a parking garage....i have pilot sports and they squeel like a ***** in the parking garages at work.....so be happy you picked up some pretty good tires....

Ditto.

When I go shopping and drive through the garage, my Pilot Sports at 3 mph and turning don't want to let go of the painted concrete.

They make some smootchy sounds... love to hug the sub-surface elements.

Tyre pressures ?

Just an outside chance the tyre pressures might be slightly too high ?? I've had that problem before after an MB service. Some dude squeezed enough air in my tyres to turn my CLK into a Bigfoot wannabee !!

The opposite would be true for Bigfoot: A flat tire = no air.

hmmm...

are'nt 225/40's on 8.5 wheels a bit to tight? Your front tires should wear out the inner threads very quickly, which is a bi*ch!

i've put 235's on my 8.5 front wheels and i have to replace them every year!

could the squeek be from that ( although i doubt it)
