Lol no it doesn't. Stock height is about 1.3" higher than that. Stock is about a 4 finger gap. With the H&Rs it's about 2 fingers.

Differentiation from color and positioning of the tire. You're not seeing how far the vertical part of the fender extends, your tires are lined up with the fender, and your offset appears to be more aggressive. All affect gap. The car is much lower than stock.

Here's the progression. Stock wheels/height, stock wheels/lowered, KMC, TSW. I sold it shortly after the TSWs went on to buy my SLK55.

It was fun, but never was going to be what I wanted it to be, which was lightweight and agile. It did well in moderate pace canyons and daily driving duty, but on track days it was a pushfest and very difficult to rotate. I could have gone farther with weight reduction, power addition, and serious chassis reinforcement. I just wasn't willing to take the ride through further cash bleeding, as the car was completely depreciated and developing other problems that took priority over mods. It was my daily driver at the time as well.

The addition of the ML and SLK were the answers to all of the negatives with the CLK. That said, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat now and stash it away for a proper restoration.

Yes, Indeed I feel your pain. Currently have chrome wheels, by which is outdated, but I've search for another types, but have not found what I like. Don't get me wrong I love my chrome rims it's just their old and I want something up to date. We'll have to wait 'til next spring being summer is over and i really dont drive her much in colder months. Would you have any examples to checkout? Tks

Agree, chrome is a look that belongs in the past...but if you want that period correct look, its perfect. Just heavy as hell. Depends on how much you want to spend for options. TSW makes a good budget wheel for Mercedes, as does ESR. I do not recommend the KMC wheels as they deformed hitting a single pothole. Pretty to look at, but their casts are weaksauce for street wheels.

As you get more quality, you get more choices and customization at the tradeoff of cost. HRE, BBS, CCW, Forgeline, Modulaire, and SimboloX have both flow formed and fully forged options in just about any size, design, and offset you want. CCW is more geared towards track cars. SimboloX is owned by a friend of mine who is an AMG fanatic. They have more wheels on Benzes here in SoCal than just about anyone.

You hit the nail on the head!!! Never heard of SimboloX or Modulaire, but now I do. Definitely would be checking out their websites later on tonight and taking a sneak peek at the others too. Cail has everything a car guy has to offer lol! As for KMC i had a '86 Scirocco back in 94-98 and installed a set of bofas on the, but ended up trading it in. TSW are really nice. ESRs i see often on fleabay, and once i was set to purchase, but the offset wasnt right for my taste. Have you heard of Aodhan?
I appreciate your time and reconnaissance detail lol

Glad to help. My CLK was my first Benz, so I can appreciate the extremely steep learning curve.
