You may not need to change the battery. One of my keys for E55 always seems to need battery every 4-6 months but I later discovered the springs that hold the 2 batteries together was loose and not applying enough pressure. So now a day I adjust the springs first before changing battery. This also happen to one of my CLK keys.

Mine died when I left the key in the wash.
I washed my key with my Jeans. 
The key survived but the battery died. I changed the battery and the key worked immediately.

I bent the contacts a'little and know it is ok. What do you do if it dies? That little key don't open the doors!

Little key does open the door?
I thought the little key opens the door but does not start the car. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Either your locks are messed up or you have the key for another Mercedes in there. My key works in the trunk, the door, and the glove compartment. If you bought the car used, go back to the owner's house and try em in his/her other cars :-D
It's not like you'll be able to take off with their car anyhow so ask em to check their other keys and see if they have yours swapped in one of theirs.
