New CL style grille

For those of you who have been curious as to what the new CL grille will look like, copy and paste the hyperlink below. Supposed to be ready sometime in March but I wouldn't doubt it if there is a schedule slip. The one pictured here is not painted so keep in mind it should be black. Lemme know what you guys think....

go to formy********.com and then select CLK/W208. Select grilles and then click on installation. The pictures are located on the installation page. Since the new grille has no surround, they had to fabricate a bracket to mount the grille to the hood, hence the instructions.

Yeah me too. I think that'll either sell me on it or make me hate it.

I think the new shatz grille with the 6.5 inch star looks great! I just bought it off Ebay with the flat hood emblem for $300 shipped. Tired of waiting for this new style CL grille.

I'm with ya on the new big star grill. The new "CL" grille....after all the waiting....looks strange and not right on our W208's.

i dont have much skill with photoshop, but....

The grille looks pretty good in black. I will want to see a real picture of the painted one first, but i actually like this star grille and i have never been a huge fan of the ones with the large chrome border so that is saying something. Someone else may be able to do this better but here's what i could come up with in 5 mins...

if you paint the outside frame of the shatz grille it looks about the same.

Is that white paint I see around the grills? The chrome part is just at the edge of the the grills? Looks a little off. The white doens't match ****.

Post some pics when your done. Also some feedback on quality, fit installation would be great. I am considering the same grill for mine.

I agree...thats why im keeping the upright hood star and factory grille. I like it better than the shatz grille, besides on that one i p-shopped you can see that the lowest slat on the grille bows out beyond the part of the hood that goes under the grille, i think they're going to have to flatten it to make it look flush and thats going to take all the "CLness" out of it.

I am very confused in which one to get. Guys we need more picures to judge . The shatz grill looks okay, but the other has no Painted pictures yet , we need a front view of the Cl Style Grill so we can put both picture side to side. to compare .

If you paint black the upper and lower pins the previous grille looks more proportionate than the new one. I think the clk grille is too big to put a star so big to fill it completely. Just my 0.02 cents
