question about CLK430coupe

i just recently bought a CLK430 AMG Coupe and i was wondering one thing if u look at the car from the front between the foglights it looks like there is something missing there u can see right through, ive looked at other cars such as on ebay and noticed some of them have a bar there and some dont.
my question is, is there supposed to be a bar there and if so where would i get one from, because it just doesnt look right to me.
thnx
Zak

That bar is a trim strip for the airdam. If you bump a parking stop or a curb it is extremely easy to jar it loose enough to fall off. If the vertical bars that it mounts to aren't cracked, the new one can be zip-tied with small ties to prevent loosing it again. Tough break, it's an expensive misfortune.

The same happened to me

I bought my CLK about 6 months ago. When I took it to the dealer, he told me some CLKs were designed like that. Yeah right...

I need a new one too. If anyone has any idea of the part number or where I can get one at a reasonable price, that would be great.

nothing is broken because nothing has to break for it to come off.... that piece pops in and pops off.... not a great design...

"Splitter"

that part is called a "splitter". email any of the firms on ebay that sell CLK bumpers...many of them have them for sale and sell them separately (not on Ebay - I'm not sure why)...that's where I got mine for a little over $100.
