Got my clk 320 CLK cab 1999 today. A few newbie questions?
A few questions that I could not find anwers for. Hope some of you guys can help:
1) How should I wash the cabrio? Is carwash ok or not?
2) Mine has a speaker between the rear seats that says "Bose" on it. Does this car have the bose option installed? Where is the extra amp located? Was it standard or what's the history behind it?
3) What are the three small buttons on the rear mirror?
4) I'd love to do the RTFM so any ideas where I could get English manuals for this 1999 320 Cab. I bought this from Germany and can't read the German ones.![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
3) It seems the have the AMG sideskirts and bumpers installed that came with 430 traditionally as well as the amg 17 + "star wheels", 225/245 tyres. Does it have some specific option package installed or is it just retrofit stuff?
Thanks!

Thanks guys! You shure are quick! Nice, I'm finding new options on the car that the seller did not even mention ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'll put photos up as soon as the snow storm ends here
(Helsinki, Finland). In the mean time my 320 Cab 99 LOOKS like this: http://www.noblemercedes.com/Mercedes/4433_1.html (styling, rimms, colors)
A few more newbie questions:
* How do operate the memory seats? 1,2,3,Green Save/Load
* Are there foglights on the bumper? Where do I put them on?
* There are some controls between the seat and the centerconsole that seem to operate on the seat somehow. What are those?
Thanks again guys!

edit: Forgot to mention: Congrats on the new car

1. Set your seat and mirrors how you want, press the green button followed by any of the 3 others. This will store your seating position and mirrors in that number. If you move your seat and want the original position back, just press and hold on the number you stored it on.
2. To turn on the fog lights that are in the AMG bumper, you must turn your light switch all the way to the right, and pull it out (towards you) out 1 notch turn on front fogs, out 2 turns on front and rear fog lamps
3. Those are the pneumatic seat controls. They inflate and deflate parts of the seat to fit your body perfectly. They are(starting with the one facing the front of the car) is: Seat cushion depth, backrest bottom, backrest center, and side bolster adjustment.

BUT if your garage door opener is equipped with a "rolling code" you must use the training button on the opener unit. Hold the training button until it flashes, now have a second person hold the button on the mirror until the training light is lit continuously. Release the button on the mirror, and press the button on the mirror once to turn off the training light.
Good luck

Thanks again! And obviously my question on the mirror buttons was not that stupid after all!
I think I'll add a few more quetions here when they pop up and I get more time to play with the car.

Xenons?
Ok lets make this thread a useful tutorial on the car for newbies ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
* The xenons don't seem all that bright. When I turn them on they are nice cool blue for a second but then turn more orange and look like normal headlights to me. Are those powerful bluish xenons on the newer cars somehow different? My friend test drove the new Audi A3 Sportsback and those xenons were very powerful....

I’m not too sure about the xenons, it could be that they are wearing out
The stock rating on our xenons is 4300K, the higher the K value, the blue it becomes. 4300K is the most effective in brightness though, they give more illumination.

Ok I think it is just the color temperature then. The bluish 8000k just stands out from the street lighting and normal head lights. I don't know about the light amount but I consider the blue more cool and pimp ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
BTW: Second day with the car and I i think it is the coolest non-family car I coud have ever bought for that money! Elegant, masculine, sporty, fast and even practical with the back seat and large trunk! What more can I want from a car!![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
That is: CLK 320 Cab 1999, AMG alloys and bumber stuff, Silver/gray interior, lots of options.

You shouldn't wash the top too often, only when it's dirty. Use a lint brush or lint roller to clean. Never drive it thru a car wash. Hand wash only or else you'll get a new roof in just a few years.
Get some convertible top spray to water proof it. The spray also contains UV protection.
It's normal for HID to look normal after a few seconds. The light is still bright and white. Check them out yourself by getting out of the car.

Car computer usage? + windows?
Could someone explain the functions of the buttons around the meter panel. +, -, 0, m, s, R
Here is something i figured out:
m - sets minutes?
s - sets seconds?
0 - long press resets the trip meter?
Then the windows: long press seems the roll the windows all the way down with one press. How about all the way up with one press? Does not seem to work the same way....
Thanks!
(I still have the german manuals I can't read...)

" +, - " = intensity of instrument lamp
" 0 " = reset trip odometer, or double press for next recommended service
" m, h " = settings of clock
" R " = resetting multifunction indicator (selecting language on car, displaying multiple error messages, temporarily switching off error messages)
The windows on 1998-1999 have one-touch down, but NOT one touch up. You can get the one-touch up but replacing the motor. You don’t have to press for a long time to use the one-touch down, just press deep enough to hit the switch at the bottom (feels like a kick down for the window button).
Hope this helps
