Any word on W209 Lorinser body kit ?

Has anybody heard if and when Lorinser will be making a body kit for the new CLK500s? I've heard that the W208 kits cost upto $15,000 - is this true?

lorinser kit

You can actually get a lorinser kit for a current CLK for around 9,000. I have talked to CEC about a lorinser kit for the new CLK coming out and they told me that it will probably come out around 2 weeks after the new CLK comes out. The reason they think that is because thats how long it took with the new SL when it came out.

2 weeks doesn't sound bad at all. When you get a $9,000 kit - what does that include? Rims, front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and the spoiler?

Do they do any suspension tuning, or is that seperate?

what comes with it

Thats just for front and rear bumper, side skirts, and exhaust. Im actually not sure if it includes the spoiler or roof spoiler. Rims are always seperate.

Wow. So for rims and the spoiler, it will probably closer to $13,000. No thank you. The CLK500's come with the AMG body kit standard, and I think the kit looks superb. When I see the CLK500's overseas that look like the American 320's, I just shake my head. I think the car looks considerably better with the sports kit - to the point where I'd feel like a jackass spending $45,000+ on a CLK320 when the 500's look sooo much better (and have the bigger engine) for not much more $$.

The above picture is the current Loriser body kit for the CL500. Being that the CLK and the CL are strikingly similar looking, I would assume that the body kits would be similar as well. Maybe they'll try to differentiate the two, but honestly - I wouldn't dream of spennding another $12,000 to get my CLK500 to look like the above picture.

I saw a red W208 with a Lorinser kit (and rims) (which you can view here ) on one of the W208 forums, and it definitely looks like it could be worth the investment. Before I heard about the 2003 W209's, I was heavily considering the W208, but I wasn't wild about the front of the car, and I just couldn't pull the trigger on it. I just think that the 500's look so good as is (with the AMG package) that it would be a crime to mess with the look.

Your thoughts?

Im actually planning on getting the Lorinser kit for my CLK 500. The reason being is that I have some friends that are hooking me up with the kit for a really good deal along with the rims. When you start looking for new rims i'd recommend going to bestdealsonwhls.com. There located in NJ. I just moved from there. The owner there has been really good with me. I just got Lorinser 19's for my S class which I have the lorinser kit on. I think it looks so phat. I never did get the kit for my CLK 208 because I didn't think I would keep it so long. But I did put 19" AMG rims on it and it looks really good with the AMG kit. Your probably right that the CLK500 with just the AMG kit will be phat enough. I'll have to see once I get mine in.
