What Car Should I Get?? S4 vs Clk 350

I am in a debate right now what exactly I am looking for. I am going to be 17 very soon, and my dad promised he would lease me a car as long as the car was under 50k USD. I am debating whether I should get the Audi S4 Sedan or MB CLK-350 2006.

I know they are both in their own class and not even similar, but I just want a sick car and I want a nice german car...

Gimme any suggestions you can offer....

Edit, i like the s4 because of the QUATTRO 4wd and It's speed
CLK -- Love the look....

if you live in a place that sees lots of snow I would get the S4, plus it has a lot more power than a CLK 350. But if you really want a coupe get the CLK. If I were you I'd be leaning towards the Audi, due to MB's quality problems.

Get the S4. There is no substitute for power. Or Class. Or Styling.

S550
clks dont have as many problems but keep in mind the s4 is top of the line in that class meantime the 350 is the smallest engine available for the clk.... also about the lease they can be totally different prices depends on the rate....hell you can get a 70k car for around 800 dollars a month if you start looking around.... again if your leasing you should have a monthly limit not a total price limit bec ur not buying the car your renting it for a long time

I really do not understand how leases work and what is incorporated into them, MB has very expensive lease rates, audis are probably a lil lower, because for example My dad is paying 900$ a month for a LOADED Lexus LX 470 2005 which is about 69k and for a clk 320 which is 46 -mid 50k, leases are around 800, sombody explain nthis to me

Are these both new cars? Do you have to get a new car? If not, I would rather look at a used M3 or C55. But between the two, I would go with the S4.

Get the CLK 350

Get the CLK 350 my man:

7GTRONIC Transmission
Keyless Go
Bi Xenons with active curve illumination
Multicontour seats
AMG Sport Package

Ride that 268 HP coupe on the silkiest 7 speed transmission
Can't beat the looks either way over the 4 door sedan, including the '06 C55 unless they upgrade the options and give it the Bi Xenons with active curve illumination. It's missing the Keyless Go function, which MB has completely withheld from the C Class.

Get that CLK 350. Mines will be home by Halloween at the latest. August 2005 Purchase Est. October 2005 Delivery

Why would i want a used car when i can get a new one, and I test drove the m3, and there was something about the ride that i didnt like that much... The car may have been a lil defective the salesman said, he claimed that this specific one had transmission problems. Also, if i get the m3 they gonna change the body and engine soon enough so its almost not worth it...

Well, because you said that the car would have to be under $50k and neither the M3 or C55 are under $50k new, so that is why I suggested a used car.

it depends on what u want...the clk is going to be a lot more comfortable and more stylish. the s4 is faster, has quattro, but is going to kill u on gas.

I hate when people say I live in New York and it snows Hello New York is not Vermont it snows maybe 1 to 5 times a year tops to the degree that you wont be able to drive your car, is five times out of the year that you may not be able to drive worth the other 361 days out of the year

Lets say there is six inches outside where the hell are you going even in the s4

you do have a point there, but my uncle who has a cl600 cant even leave the driveway when there is even an inch of snow, MB is infamous for the snow, I think it would just be convienient to have quattro when it is needed. And in Long Island when it snows, the snow will be on the ground for days at a time, I think it would be a cool thing to be able to drive in the snow for once, besides in my moms lexus lx 470

Since you live in NY go with the S4. I live in Chicago and sometimes I just can't drive the CLK. I got caught in the middle of a blizzard while 30 miles from home and ended up on a guardrail on the expressway. It was real humbling experience driving through that. Once winter comes, you'll be glad you have the quattro.

I suggest the C55, definitely over a CLK350. I recently drove an 06 E350 and was unimpressed with the engine and performance. While they upped the horsepower from the E & CLK 320, it still is nothing like a C55 or S4 from a performance standpoint.

The CLK350 is like a smoothie, and if that's what you want go for it.

I had a 05 CLK500 and I thought it was a "loose car", stock, gorgeous to look at, etc. It happened to have so many problems that I lemon lawed the car. That can happen and should have no bearing on your purchase unless you think it pervasive by reading through these forums.

Anyway, one of the design things that bugs me were the CLK heavy doors. As careful as I felt I was, sometimes unknowingly, I would loose contol of it. Another was the very light steering, great for u-turns but limited road feel.

My brother has an S4 and that car is hot, but I feel the C55 that I just picked up is just a very slight step above, the spirit of it, tame in city traffic around town and a beast as you need it on the open road!

4 doors vs. 2, that's subjective....

I also love limited production cars. Here in NJ, everyone has CLK's, nothing distinctive about em. C55's and S4 are not common.

Hope my opinion helps.....

All you go to do is get the clk in a not so common color and you are good But if you are leaning toward the s4 Go for it you are only 17 you have your whole life ahead of you buddy.

The main issue is 4 door vs. 2 door/sedan vs. coupe.

you're 17 and I assume your friends are going to be riding along with you, the four doors are going to be a convenience. The S4 seems a lot more practical, especially with that quattro in the winter.

test drove S4, LOVED IT so much. Yet, my dad tested it and said it's tooo fast for me and he doesnt want me to have such a fast car... so there that goes.

Also, did you guys know that the lease forr a 2005 and a Half (New Body) is 1200$ a month for 36 month!!

IDK what audi is thinking....

If I was 17 and I could get any car I wanted <$50K I would without a doubt get the C6 Corvette

If you really want the euro-look go with a 2005 leftover M3.

If you really want a Benz you have to go with an AMG...C55 is the cheapest. I think a CLK350 is too slow - JMHO.

Audi's suck :v

When I was 17 all I wanted to do was drive fast :v , all I could afford was an Integra GS-R but it was fun

You have great Dad, Good Luck!
