Engine 5,461-cc DOHC 32-valve V-8. High-pressure die-cast alloy cylinder block. Alloy heads.
Net power 382 hp @ 6,000 rpmNet torque 391 lb-ft @ 2,800 - 4,800 rpmCompression ratio 10.7:1Fuel requirement Premium unleaded
gasoline, 91 pump octane.Fuel and ignition system Integrated sequential multipoint fuel injection and ignition includes

shifts points to the driver's current driving style. Touch Shift allows the driver to manually downshift and allows upshifts
by nudging the shift lever left or right from the Drive position. Shift into Optimum Gear programming allows one-touch
selection of the best gear for maximum acceleration or engine braking by holding the shift lever to the left of Drive for one
second. Driver-selectable Comfort mode starts the vehicle moving in 2nd gear or a second Reverse gear, and upshifts at lower

wiping speed based on the amount of rainfall measured on the windshield.
Variable-focus halogen headlamps with clear high-impact polycarbonate lenses.
Halogen front foglamps, in front apron. Single red rear foglamp integrated in the left taillamp cluster.
Driver-selectable light-sensing headlamps can be set via the Auto position of the headlamp switch to automatically illuminate

Driver-programmable daytime running lamps illuminate low-beam headlamps at reduced intensity (full intensity for optional
Bi-Xenon headlamps) in daylight, with auto-on override in darkness.
Automatic lamp substitution uses a nearby lamp if a critical bulb fails.
Touch Turn Signals flash three times with one touch of the turn-signal lever, for lane changing. Auxiliary LED turn-signal
indicators are integrated with side-mirror housings.
Interior Features
Digital dual-zone automatic climate control with individual left and right digital temperature controls and rotary airflow
distribution controls, automatic control of blower speed and airflow distribution (with manual override), sun sensor,
humidity/dewpoint sensor to help reduce window fogging during humid weather and help prevent overdrying of cooled air, and

Wow! A month ago I started talking to the dealer about a Euro delivery of a CLK550 in September. We've been waiting on the details of the '07s so we could place an order. I was very pleased to hear of the larger engine in the '07 and was expecting a bit of a price jump because of it. But, if these prices are correct, the price went down as the base for the '06 CLK500 was a little change over $63k. When I was chatting with my Sales rep today, she said she'd have prices on Monday, so I reckon I'll find out soon

Wow, I really like the numbers on the CLK550. Any idea what the weight of this car will be? Under 3600 lbs?

Why is it that the german mercedes always have more horsepower then the american versions. For instance the new clk 500 (german version got 388 horsepower the american only 381. Does anybody know why? Also we have to use a higher Octan gas then you guys do. The american only requires 91 ours need at least 95!

Does the new CLK550 weigh more than the 2003-05 CLK55??
If its basically the same car, then why is the 0-60mph only 5.1. With all the extra horses shouldn't it be at least as fast as the CLK55?

My point is not about horsepower...its about published 0-60 times. How convienent its 5.1sec and not less. I would bet dollars to doughnuts it is faster than the CLK55 but they are not allowed to say it. Imagine how pissed the AMG guys would be. A non AMG car in the same class is beating them. It kinda sucks. Thats why I feel they should've waited for the new body style to introduce all these new motors. ....550.....63...etc. Then it would seem to make more sense.
