Yawn. It was next to a SLK at the emotion event. They look about the same size. Inside, it seems much smaller. It looks like an Acura. Really, it does. boring.

i sat inside a clk500 and saw several clk320s. I think personally after driving both w208s and w209, the w209 is so much of an improvement that I can't say in words. Also the new clk500 was much performer than the w208 clk430. The handling seems to be improved as well, with better visiblity.

The newer look might not be as distinguised as the w208, but already the w208 is looking dated standing next to w209. Anyway, I think everyone is entitled to their opinion.

So have you decided what car to get? since the w209 is out of the pix now? M3 or something totally different???

Obviously you have not sat in an Acura lately. They CLK is far superior: better trim, styling, quieter, better accel (320 too), better options, better handling, etc.

The E-motion event for the Miami area will be this coming weekend.

I heard, that they might have a CLK here, but I was told that one cannot sit in it nor drive the CLK?!

It would be a great opportunity to test the E and CLK models at the E-motion event.

They had one of every class (non-AMG) at the DC emotion. Doors open and available to sit in. The new CLK320 appeared very wimpy and small. I much prefer my W208 CLK55. I would keep it over the new one. This W209 is destine to be be a quickly redesigned body style. I'm getting a W211 AMG next spring or I would keep my 55 forever.

I just saw a shipload of new E 211s - 320s & 500s - at Miami MB.

What a beautiful car! It looks a step up and resembles the S class, inside and out. Depending on options, the MSRP range was from low 50s to mid 60s.

My favorite combi was brilliant silver and charcoal w/burled walnut. Very rich!

For myself, I'll skip the 209 CLK generation. The new CLK instead of being a step UP from the visual design like the E class, regrettably it's -- a step DOWN.

hmrdwn:

You may have to wait till next year around this time for your 55 AMG.

The new E brochure makes no mention of the AMG. Speculation has it, that it will reach the US shores as a 2004 model.

(Check the E AMG mbworld discussions.)

I'm not sure, we Mercedes owners should drop in some
Korean,Japanese car's forum and comment
"Quite low-end,cheaper, fugly at all, I'd buy a Benz"
then defense
"Hey, it's an open forum, why can't I share my opinions ?"
"I'm telling the truth,ain't I ?"
Is this so called Democracy ?

This's the W209 forum, a lot of people like the new model
and wish helpful comments.

Pls learn to respect, guys ! There're W211/W208 forums for your singing & compliments anytime.
Should we be there and comment
"What a dated car ! " I don't see any gentlemen here owned or ordered a w209 do this.
