Clk Or 645......
It is a very heavy car too. The coupe is 100 lbs heavier then a CLK550 coupe and 645 convert is like 300 lbs heavier then the CLK550 convert.
I drove the CLK63 AMG rather hard at Limerock in the AMG Challenge the beginning of this month on the big main track and the tiny kidney-shaped track, and it has me 2nd guessing all the money I put into my car. [!] I absolutely love that car. The engine ... the tranni ... it corrects all the 'wrongs' of what I always thought was a somewhat clopped together AMG-tuner car of the late 90s.
As a matter of fact I set fastest time in the CLK63 in my final challenge of the day (advance vehicle dynamics). ...and it should be noted the power to weight ratio of that car is about the best of all the AMGs that will be using that engine at present too.... so... CLK all the way! (whether 550 or 63)
as far as choice between clk or 645 i take the 645 over clk500. but choice of clk550 vs 645 i take the clk550. the extra horses takes the cake.

Regardless, I would take a 6 series over a CLK anyday. The 6 looks like a shark! It's not as nice in terms of luxury-- it has more bells and whistles, it just doesn't feel as nice. BUT, it's just such a mean looking car.
FOR NEW CARS, i'll take CLK 550 over 650ci on any day. face lifted CLK 550 is beautiful with mean lines on the spoilers. also comes with sick 550 engine and 7spd tranny, combined with amg double exhaust. now 650 can't come no where near to CLK 550.
CLK in general is better accomodated coupe IMO. can you say pillar-less?
p.s. if you are looking to put passengers in the back, forget about 645. those things are useless! and no coffee on the drive to work either
(unless you want to stick that ugly piece of plastic on the side)
