Center dash trim piece removal

Wondering if someone could give me a hand...all of the searches come up with vague and confusing comments.......

I need to remove my center console wood trim pieces in my '04 W209.

Anyone have a rudimentary walk thru? Appreciate any help...

1. open ashtray
2. pull up on shifter console piece first. From front
3. Disconnect wires
4. Twist off bottom portion of shift knob and pull up knob.
5. Next remove ashtray. Use a small flat screwdriver to pull tabs towards rear. There are 2 tabs.
6. Look behind ashtray and you will see 2 metal wire clips. Pull these down with a hook or a small flat screwdriver.
7. Pull the wood trim out from bottom.
8. disconnect wires.

Jon.....not your fault....I was too lazy last night (and didn't want to get my pants dirty in the garage) and I didn't get low enough to see the screws...... my wife called me "dainty".......I got her back though, I have made a heck of a mess of her work out room with painted trim pieces.......and I smeared grease on my pants for extra measure.....
