Baah Humbug on an AMG exhaust.....

When you have Mufflex in Trenton, NJ, you may have an alternative.... I am new to MBWorld, so I apologize if this is a repeat..... This guy (Denney) from Mufflex, designed an affordable dual exhaust for 03 to 06 clk500's. Gives 12+hp to your car without dumping thousands into your exhaust.
For about $1500 he will run a new, high flow exhaust and cut your lower ferring/bumper - keeping it looking as good as new. He ships all over the U.S.
I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself. He will even take you for a test ride if you're in the area.
Check it out....... What do you think? Watch the video.....

Does it resonate at speed though? I mean it sounds nice and mean, but will it have annoying overtones while casually driving?

What is your affiliation with Mufflex? I find it very odd that your very first post would be to plug something like this. Regardless, I will just remind you that non-sponsor advertising is not tolerated on MBWorld.

Joe Z -
I'm not sure about the resonating. Definatly a good point. I need to go for a ride in his car to see. I hope to do that soon. I will pass along my findings.

Mr Vanos - I read this site all the time, but have never signed on before.
When I recently heard about this clk500 dual exhaust, I wanted to pass along some $$$ saving information. I would have appreciated if someone else posted it and saved me some cash.
Skeptic......whew. Is that how you approach everyone's first post?

Welcome aboard. Glad you finally signed up.

No, only those that warrant it. We deal with posts like this all the time, so don't take it personal. In fact, I received several emails from fellow members about your post being potential spam. Had I been 100% sure it was, it would have just been deleted. Reread your post and take into consideration it was your first post. You would have asked the same question if you were in my shoes. Regardless, enjoy your stay and hope to see more posts from you.

Mr. Vanos,
Well, I appreciate you being cool in your response. I read this site all the time; I thinks the site is great -up and down. I am just on here to read & relate to others who love their MB as much as I do.
Thanks for the welcome.

Thumbs up Bahhhh Humbug (AMG Exhaust) Part 2.....

I took a chance. I had the dual exhaust run by Mufflex in NJ. I have to say it sounds a bit louder (more obnoxious) than our AMG counterpart. That was my doing, not theirs. He recommended to duplicate the dual exhaust on his CLK500 but I insisted on a bit louder than his. More grumble.
Needless to say I am very happy with his work. I got the grumble I was looking for.
I will post pictures tomorrow and video tomorrow evening.
$1300 out the door.
I also asked him about putting high flow cats in but he said I would have headaches dealing with the check engine light possibly coming on often.

Here are some photos. I couldn't be happier with this exhaust.
* Houman - If you are curious if this set up will work on the 02 CLK, just call the owner.
Enjoy the pics. Video soon to follow......
