w209 turbo
Hi everyone, i currently own a 2004 clk500, and this is pretty much the only car that i haven't tuned or upgraded yet in my life. I've worked on many other cars including M3's, Audis, Nissans, etc etc. I was wondering if there is any type of engine management or piggyback system for this mercedes. I would love to turbocharge this beast, and get some real horsepower out of it. Or at least do a full true dual exhaust from the headers back. I'm already planning on my dtm wide body kit for aesthetics, but in terms of speed, this mercedes just doesn't cut it for me. What can we do?

oh by the way, i have built custom turbo kits for all my cars, and did not purchase the kits already built. so i can fabricate everything, i just need to know of somekind of tuning to take care of air/fuel ratios and timing.

hrmm... if u ever find out tell me! hahaha... i've been wanting to for some while but... i wouldnt wanna mess with the engine if im still under warranty... l0l.... Hrmmmm i think tuning is the only hard part... u can contact House of Power at huntington beach... he build a custom supercharger kit for a customer.... im pretty sure he owuld be able to assist u... take care

clk 500 2003
I’m in UK and getting a chip upgrade (I assume it’s a chip upgrade not really sure what they are doing) which he says will boost horse power from 306 to 341 while removing the 155 limiter, he says 850+vat. He said it is undetectable by Mercedes.
please post pics of your car when u get dtm wide body kit

so that's all the information people? i know we can scavenge up some more. so if their is a chip for the ecu, than there must be some standalone system or piggyback that we can use to do custom tuning maps. i want to have a clk dtm, that will perform like a clk dtm. with a custom turbo kit, i can see well into 450hp range. not yet up to par as the original dtm clk, but depending on boost pressure and how strong the engine internals are, i don't doubt getting number up into 600hp.

There aren't many tuned CLK500's, mainly because they are hard and expensive to tune. I've asked a few performance shops to boost my CLK and the figures I always get are about $15-20k.
I don't know of any piggyback programs for it. When major tuners like Kleeman add a supercharger to the CLK500, they work with the stock ECU and tune it through that. The electronics are supposed to be very complicated, but I saw a Kleeman s/c'ed CLK55 and it was done beautifully. Ran like a charm. My CLK500 was tuned on the dyno, they tuned the a/f ratios and such.
I haven't seen any turbocharged CLK500's as of yet. It'd be cheaper to get a C63 or CLS55. I feel like a turbo CLK is just too much of a risk and too big of a bottomless money pit.
Good luck though
