OT, but actually on a Porsche 996TT, there is no way to get a beep with factory equipment. If there is a beep it is telling you something is open, tripped or deactivated. If you hit the button twice it will deactivate the interior IR alarm...it's in the manual.

The beep-doorlock thing is programmed based on country code. USA=no beep. I know this and when they upgraded some firmware at some point, they changed it Mexico and it had the LAMEST beep in the world.

Get us the unlock codes...
Someone, give us the console unlock codes (for the CLK 350 USA 2006) and we can figure out the tricks and options for ourselves. I am in USA, but would love to have it display in German, and change the nav prompts to Deutsch, and enable the SAT radio that I bought but can't install because I need to activate it (the dealer is a snob and wants to charge a small fortune for this option.) Hey, we own our vechiles and the features are already built-in. Let us drivers/owners decide.

I have an '04 CLK500 cab, and I have 3 beeps when I lock it (synchronized with the lights flashing) and one beep when I unlock (and lights flash once.) So I am here to tell you that at least with an '04, it's possible to have the beep. Call the dealer!

Same here with my 2006 CLK 350 Cab... Locking = 3 beeps + light flases. Unlocking = 1 beep + light flash

Same here, but only after MB installed a new alarm system b/c the old one would go off whenever it wanted for no reason.

You can have the beep. Have the front SAM national version coding changed to the Netherlands. And IrvineCAGuy try pushing 138 at the same time on radio mode but I think it may only take you to a software up date window. Then all you will need is the rite software update disk to make your sat radio work.
