I agree.... yellow calipers on silver? Then again you do have chrome trim around your tail lights, so i am not overly shocked.

For looks alone sure you can do what you want . I suspect that a lot of benz owners don't care much about performance or funcationality and they do whatever to make the car look nice.

Technical talking, I'm sure someone else has mentioned this as well, when you cut springs, it ruins the integrity of the springs because they are designed to perform best at their specs.

In the world of modding, people will say you are ricer for cutting springs, painting calipers, installing neon lights, putting on huge none-fuctional wings, etc etc...

I dont know what u thinking but painting the calipers and cutting springs( stock ? no and aftermarket yes) are the way ppls do it here in this forum....U need to search before you say something like this....and no im not mad because u dont like my caliper U might not like because I dont have the AMG Caliper but what if I replace those with one of those Brembo kits is it difference ? or u still call me ricer ? lolz. Neon lights and huge wings uhh no not for me. I think I know what "ricer" means

/\This is not my first time signing for a forum nor my first time reading threads like this. I come from a much more performance oriented car, S2000, and knowledge from a much more performance oriented forum, S2ki.

Like I said, if it's pure looks, you can cut any springs you want. From a performance standpoint, it's absolutely dumb to cut springs. Just because you read a bunch of threads about people cutting springs and are happy, that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do. If you want to do it correctly, get coilovers.

If you can afford to get an CLK, then I'm sure you can afford to get some coilovers.

OH yeah and I would get brembo brakes in your case instead of painting the calipers. What are you achieving by painting the calipers? trying to look like you have after market calipers (Brembo?) ? Some people might call that posing....

Eibach and Blistein shocks are a good combo for many cars. But they cost almost as much as some coilovers. According to fattony, KW-2 are around 1200 (sounds a a great deal) and they're really great coilovers. Coilovers are more functional than shocks and springs because you can adjust the height and the "softness" or "stiffness" of the ride.

But sure different strokes for different folks
