Lightbulb Is CLK beauty only?

Hi everyone,

I currently have a c320, but a clk has always been my dream car. I just read Consumer Report, and it seems that they are not too pleased with the clk. They say that the car's reliability is not as good as average, and it's handling is not as good as the c320. I really appreciate to hear what you owners of clk have to say about that. And for those who have driven both the c320 and clk, do you think I should just stick with what i have???

I plan to get the clk320 with parktronic and navigation. I realize with my c320 that MB tends to have a high butt which makes parallel parking more challenging. How do you guys like the 2 extra options?? I really appreciate your response. Thank you in advance

Hi,
Parktronic, as you mentioned, do help and both of my cars have
it. Never a single scratch when parking happened to me or my wife since owned.
GPS, so big country the states is, I can't image w/o it. $.02

I too would like to know more about the CLK vs the C320. I'm totally happy with the C320 handling. It feels far betterto me than the new E Class which I rejected solely because of the imprecise feeling to the speed sensitive steering. I'm planning to get a CLK but certainly wouldn't want it if the steering was like the E.
I have not had an opportunity to test drive a CLK since all my dealer's CLK's are pre-sold. I would really appreciate a reply from someone who has experienced the steering on the C and CLK.

Thanks for the input Shine. Your reply is what I thought it would be. Can you also share with us how you feel about your c32amg compared to your clk.

I too thought my c320 performed beautifully. A bit lack in power sometimes, but no major handicap. I just think the clk is so beautiful. It is more a work of art, than a car. But I really hope I wont be disappointed with its performance when compared to its c-class counterpart. I hope to hear more about the comparison between the two. Thanks all

It's a good start you already love the W203 C320.
Before I say they're almost twins in handling, V8 goes a step up
stiffer than V6, & look at what I find :
CLK500, C32AMG share the identical factory settings, spring & shocks, anti sway bars, rims/tires...any of them, twins.
I thought it's another two door C32 except for less power.
Mercedes save the effort and copy exactly from the AMG.
We know C32 performs like a V8, so is its setting.
Test run by an enthrusiast here, "Close to the feel of BMW, W203 & W209" said by him, I haven't driven BMW E46 yet.

Skip the CLK, you'll find an electronic car,W211, technology, comfortable, luxury... all successful appeal for sales.
Fun ? sorry I'd rather say , fun to know how technology dominate & take over, not fun to drive it.

Hey Shine, so I take it that you are not too impressed with your clk than your c32amg. ahhhh, so disappointed to hear that. I was hoping you'll say the clk is sooooo sweet. But that's ok. I want honest answers. But I have to say. If you can drive in Taiwan without a scratch on either one of your cars, You must have very good skills

Theine, Nice car. Did you lower it and put in all those good stuff also? Cousumer Report was saying that the car has many small problems. Has it ever giving you any major trouble over the years?

Problems?...nah..the only problem I had was the dashboard rubbing against the windshield, which the dealer fixed in an hour.
Besides that, sweet car for 17,900 miles so far.
Oh, yes the car is lowered with H&R springs and Koni sport shocks.

C240
I wouldnt pony up 50+K for a CLK over a C320. Its about the same size with pretty much the same interior. Its a little nicer - buts its really a C Class Coupe. I would go to an E first though i think its overpriced and looks small too.
