Dipstick for w209
Anyway:
The loaner I have is a 2010 C300 and while eyeballing the engine this weekend I noticed that this engine has a dipstick and it's also located in the same spot as the rear port on the clk's which have no dipstick...so it ocurred to me that if these are similar engines ( not sure) could we not use a dipstick from the C300 ?

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Especially when the car has been as good as gold to you and has such little mileage.
I think I remember reading a recent thread about tranny problems.
I think reference was made to a radiator problem that caused fluid to leak into the tranny.
Sounds most irregular, I know, but see if you can find the thread. It was that long ago.
As for the dip-stick. I'm not sure, bud.
I have the M156 engine, so I can't help you there.
I'm sure someone will help you with that question soon enough.
Hope you get your car sorted.

If that's the case then I'm sorry to hear it. If the transmission needs to be replaced, you are looking at over $7000 in repair cost. Hope you have extended warranty.
There is talk about class action lawsuit in the last post on this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class-w209/300694-vibrating-sound-rear-wheels-area.html

So yes, this Mercedes brand is not showing its best side for me.... hopefully it will not be much more.
Forgot, one of the parking rear light bulbs started to glow as if the rear fog lights were on. I did manage to get that fixed by cleaning the socket at least for now.
On another note: got the call from the dealer yesterday. My jerking transmission issue is a faulty TCU which is not covered by the extended warranty..need to replace the box....about $1300. Mercedes ownership is wonderful.

On a side note, find Benz dealer mechanic that does stuff on the side. Will save you lots of $
