I installed D1S HID 6000K low beam to match my 6000k HID foglight today.
I know there's one person here with a Clk 550 that also installed the D1S HID 6000k low beam and 6000K foglight. I have 2 questions for you. Did your D1S HID came in a nice box (I'm not talking about the shipping box)? And were there any specification labels on the back of the bulbs? Mine D1S bulbs didn't came in a nice box like when I got mine HID foglights kit. And there were no specification labels on both. It look like they send me a used one that some one returned it. Btw, the installation was very very easy. It took me about 5 mins on the 1st one and less then a min on a 2nd one.

i have 6000k bulbs in my bixenons and 6000k hid fogs in my 550. i ordered the bulbs from hid extra and they didnt come in a nice box, just with the plastic cover over each bulb and wrapped in protective material. i dont recall if there were specifications on the bulbs

Yeah, that's exactly how mine was packaged too from HID Extra. Ok, I feel much better now. Thank you.

That looks good i need to change mine out to i recently replaced the drivers side headlight assembly and it came with a 4300k stock bulb and my passenger side has the 6000k need to change it to match anywhere i can buy just one bulb not to buy a whole set. Also another questions is whats the difference between d1s d2s d2r are they all the same and work the same way i have 2003 clk 500..after i figure it out ill change my fogs to. If somebody can point me in the right direction.. Thanks!

2. A D1S bulb is entirely different than the D2x series. A D1S bulb is very unique looking as it has a large square metal base attached to the bulb. A D2S bulb is designed for projector housing, a D2R bulb is designed for a reflector based housing. They technically are interchangeable, but light output will not be optimal if you use the wrong bulb type.
For the record, my 2007 CLK550 uses a D1S bulb.

+1 Pacboy be careful I went by what (sylvania.com) said and ordered D1S the first time around. HIDExtra has some good lights!

Also, my manual says I shouldn't touch the fog lights in a bi-xenon equipped car, but I can't for the life of me figure out why if they're not xenon in the first place.

If I had to guess, I'd say it's because the fogs on a bi-xenon equipped car are dynamic fogs that turn on and off at night when you make a turn or use your turn signals. Maybe they don't want you to accidentally mess up the dynamic aspect of the fogs.

Clk does not have projector foglight housing. If you seen one then it one of those aftermarket. The old W209 AMG foglight is oval and the new one is just round but they're not projector housing.
