Complete LED change

Hey guys, hope everyone has been good!

Im making a thread on LED's mods i have done on my car so other can benefit for it and know what types of bulbs to buy and where.

My car is a 2006 CLK350

First let me start with the City Lights.
Our cars use a T10 Type LED and make sure to purchase them with build in resistors.
i Got mine from e-bay: seller ( polytrade )

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MERCE...QQcmdZViewItem

This is how they look:

Night

Day

Next Side markers:

Same LED type as the city lights T10. i purchased this kind from ijdmtoys.com
Again you have to make sure they have build in resistors to avoid errors and flickering.

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Canbus-Euro..._t10_sku27.htm

Keep in mind you can go brighter and purchase the same LED's for the city light. I didn't because i thought they would be too big to fit on the hole but now i know they do so you can go for it.

Before LED:
HATED THE YELLOW lol

After:

Night:

License plate:

Our cars use a 6411 type LED and i have purchased mine from ijdmtoys.com

Again make sure you buy error free LEDS
http://store.ijdmtoy.com/OBC-Error-F..._d36_sku30.htm

You will also find some brighter LED 6pack ones. I used those before 3 times actually but always had problems with them after 1 month or so and now i stopped trying.
The ones i posted above work great for 4 months now and im very happy with them.

Night Pic:

What i love about them is the line they make on the ground, looks very nice.

Side door ( puddle light )

Here is where things get easier. No need for resistors here.
Got mine from vleds.com

http://www.v-leds.com/Interior-LED/D...-p5168709.html

Dont have pictures of this sorry but they are very very bright and they look great when you open the doors since they cover a big surface.

Interior lights ( dome light ) Front:

I have purchased mine from superbrightleds.com

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...2Ffestoon.html
i cant direct link from there but this is what i have for the middle one of the dome light. ( the one that turns on when you unlock the car)

1 | High Power 6-LED Festoon bulb | $ 14.95 |
Cool White - 7000K 37mm 3710-xHP6
For the map light i purchased:

2 | WLED-xLX 1Watt LED Wedge Base bulb | $ 9.95 |
Cool White WLED-CWLX

This are super bright i love it.

Pic Middle one

Side ones:

They are actually very white not sure why they look kinda yellow there

As for the rear dome light you can use the same bulb as for the front middle one or you can go with a different color.
I bought mine from superbrightleds.com and got the

44x10mm (1.732 inches long)12 VDC Festoon Base Bulb with 9 LEDS
in UV BLack Light. Looks very cool at night i really like it:

That is pretty much what i have changed and what there is to change.

What i still haven't figured out is the little light underneath the mirror and the fog lights.

I recently purchased the Hoen xenon match lights H11 for our fog lights

http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm

They claim them to be white and match the oem Xenon HID but i do not think so.

There is difference from OEM ones thats for sure but not what you would think.

Before HOEN

After

You can still notice that yellow there

I have thought of purchasing this from ijdmtoys.com

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/LED-Fog-Dri..._h11_sku42.htm

but they do not come with build in resistors to avoid flickering and error messages.
If anyone has done it PLZ let us know here or if you have found another solution for white fog lights.

Also everyone be careful of this types of bulbs

http://www.automotivelightingusa.com...=1&keyword=LKB

This things will give you a very nice White light or any other color you chose but they will MELT your retainers and the bulb with melt its self retainer as well leaving you with bad smell and a mess to clean and risk of catching fire.

DO NOT DO NOT buy them by all means my experience has been terrible with them.

And i believe that's about it. If you have any suggestions on how to improve anything plz add it here i would love to read it.

Take care everyone and good luck with your mods:

Oh btw my new room mate says hello to you all

Looks Good! Hoen's are meant to match OEM Xenon, from those pics it looks like you have halogens not xenons. Do you have an HID kit in your headlights? If you don't you could get one from HIDextra and then get a matching fog kit from them too.

Those LED fogs from ijdmtoy don't work in our cars. Trust me don't waste your money.

Also it isn't absolutely necessary to get led's with resistors for the city lights. I have had a couple sets without resistors over the years.

Hey there!

That's great to know about the city lights.
Usually everything without a resistor is cheaper.

And yes my car doesnt have Xenon installed. I have upgraded to aftermarket

HID on my headlights

but always think that doing that to my fog's would be way too much work.

Is there a DUI anywhere around?

Those look like halogens with aftermarket HID kit to me. Have any closer pics of the headlights off?

There is a few of DIY floating around..lol

My bad I read it wrong, you should just get a kit from HIDextra over in the groupbuy section the same temp as your headlights.

There should be a couple "DIY" around. Try searching for "fog install" or variations of that. Not too hard though, just take off the fender liners and you should have easy access..

I used the 3 LED one. I have tried the 2LED one twice and noticed that the resistors would easily fall of from the bulb and the flickering would start. Maybe too much heat or smth.

I wouldn't recommend the 2 LED one go with the 3LEd and i believe they are the same price too

Hello,

I just installed mine last Tue.. looks great! I am happy with it.

But I still have the sidemarkers and the fog... good thing I did not buy the fog replacement yet.. because my fogs are H7 and not H11 like you said.

Anyway.. How did you remove the bulb on the driverside foglight? I cannot reach it by hand because there is that box of water for the windshield.

Did you remove the front bumper? I can reach the passenger side easily and replace it without problem, but the driverside I just cant..

You have to remove the fender liner to reach the drivers fog

The fender liner is the plastic that covers the tire right or that plastic behind the front bumper?

I will try it out... but I think I just tried that route but the front bumper and that area are connected or built as one.. so I cannot unbolt or remove just the liners without removing the front bumper

Check out this link. In his pic the fender liner is missing, that is what you have to take off. It is held on by clips and a few bolts.
