Got Coilovers, after 5 yrs.

i'll have pics in the next day or two. I finally did it. Between paying for college, bar tabs, Books, Firearms, and wasted money on girlfriends. I finally purchased what I wanted when I got my car 5 years ago... Coilovers.

I purchased an off brand, but from what I have seen based on the PSS9 system, it looks to be the same setup for around a thousand.

Anyone have any input on initial ride height adjustment?

Btw i'm installing them myself so any input for what works and what doesn't would help.

thanks

I purchased K Sport coilovers.

I haven't seen anyone on the boards here with them, I guess i'll be the test subject.

I'll try and get pics up tonight, but it'll be atleast a couple of weeks to get them on the ride. I just graduated and i'm in the process of moving. It's amazing the amount of things one can acquire at College.

Got Coilovers, after 5 yrs.-photo_3.jpg

the kit uses the existing hardware from the Mac Pherson strut at the top of the assembly to mount it to the strut cavity in the engine bay. ( the upper spring mount and fitted lining)

Awesome, I was waiting for someone to test them out on a CLK. Is this the newest version of the kit? Where did you get it? I have read mixed bag reports and some bad ones regarding quality over time of use on BMW forums. I was considering these but now I'm not so sure. The price is great and it would be good to here some more positive and perhaps these are newer versions that are improved? Not sure. I emailed KSport with some questions about a week ago and never got a reply back. That was one of the issues one of the BMW owner had when it came to support and warranty from them. I hope you will be satisfied with them and will not have any issues.

I'm greatly looking forward to your reviews, more you can post the better. Do you have any better closeup pics of them? I will have many questions for you Will post a bit at a time

Here is a nice suspension installation guide with pics in case you need it.

Yup......only Bilstein are the best. I used Bilstein struts/shocks on all my Mercedes Slk 230 over 100K mile on the shocks, Clk 430 over 100k on the shocks and Clk 500 over 60K miles on the struts/shocks and none has yet to fail. That's why Mercedes used Bilstein "HD" on their AMG models. One thing you have to consider that most of these unknown brands model will be obsoleted in a few years then you might have to buy another brand new set again. That's exactly what happen with my Civic. One of the strut leak at around 65K miles and I can't get a replacement and so I have buy another brand new set.
