2003 CLK 500
What's my CLK500 worth?

I've got a CLK 500, silver w/ charcoal leather, 6500 miles. It's pretty light on options and the MSRP was $55k or so. What price should I expect to get if I sell it? I'm currently in Seattle.

I'm selling it because I switched from an M3 to the CLK 500 after hearing about all the M3 engine woes, but the CLK 500 really isn't a sports car like the M3 was. I miss that feeling and now I'm thinking of getting a used Porsche 911.

2003 CLK 500
I think it just has the K3 package, so the MSRP was right around $56k. Anyway, I've heard the CLK 500 is hard to find right now & that CLK's in general hold their value quite well. I'm just curious if anyone has an opinion on what I should ask for it.

Thanks Chriscober, that seems like a good price, but I'm looking for the Brilliant Silver or Jet Black. Good Luck on selling your car.

There's no problems on my car. In fact, I am a bit hesitant about selling it and starting to have 2nd thoughts.

But to answer you question, I ordered a 04 CLK55, it will arrive around October, so either I trade it in or try to sell it while waitting...

I can understand having owned 3 208's and now a 209, but the first model year stuff should be worked out for the 04's and the amg cars get a little extra attention in certian ares. I do miss the reassurring thunk of the 208 when you close the doors but the new 209's interior is much nicer IMHO and the exterior view with all the windows down is very very nice as is the front end. See if you can order a different interior trim for 04 55 as the 03 55's aluminum trim is a bit plasticky looking..the wood trim on the 500 is much nicer. I almost bought the 03 55 and spent some time behind the wheel, if you want my driving impression let me know.

Thanks RJC,

I almost forgot about the aluminum interior...I too prefer the wood interior. I dont think it's even an option for you to choose, I guess I am stuck w/ the "plasticky" look or aka "sports" look if that's what MBUSA calls it, but I sure will look into it when the car goes into production.

How was the test drive on the 209 55s? Is it really that much of noticeable difference w/ your 500? AMG engines are quite addictive, I decided not to touch the C32 in my garage before my 55 arrives.

The 55 drove like a dream and the engine was quite powerful with a nice growl, amg tips looked great, I did not push the car hard as it was brand new but I could feel the power. The speed shift feature was cool but for around town the normal setting was fine. I like the looks of the new twin spokes better than the previous version like on your 32; if they would only put the 18s on! The brakes were awesome as are the 500's (the 500's this year are bigger than last years 55s) Maybe for 04 they will make the black maple wood as an interior option. The nubuck leather is much nicer in person than in the brochure.The electronic seatbelt handlers are very cool, you can get quite creative with these things. I really don't like 4 door cars but for the money the E55 may be the way to go, 18's, almost 500 hp and the $ difference may not be that much. Maybe a 500 with 18's double spokes and the amg exhaust or a 55 with the 18's??? Did I mention I don't like 4 door cars;
