Brake Dust?

Brake Dust?
My front brakes have been squeaking lately. But only after driving for about 10 min and only at low speeds (35mph-15mph) and it doesnt do it all the time. Im suspecting this could be caused by brake dust? is there any way to stop this, short of taking off the wheels and cleaning the brake components?

happens to me once and awhile. usually after i clean my car and the water on the brakes and stuff dry up. i usually just dont mind it cuz it goes away. looking to get some akebonos with my next set. but then again, i am saving up for rotors and brake lines lol

lol niiice. right now im saving up for exhaust and stuff...but im thinking about saving for brembos instead. Im not sure why they are squeaking now cause its when the car is dry and only at low speed, im assuming brake dust.

That was happening to me also with my Brembo rotors and Porterfield pads. Only when it was dry and at low speeds. Don't know if it was the pads or rotors but the sound stopped when I switched to Akebonos and R1's rotors. If I had to put money on it I would say it was the pads. They still had plenty of life on them but they drove me crazy at low speeds.
It sucks rolling up in a MB with some nice wheels and squeaking to a stop...lol
Edit: No matter what I did and how clean they were they would just squeak. So your problem might not be just brake dust.

Thanks for the info, Wes. It's weird tho because they don't squeak at 15mph to stop. Only between 35-15. At high speeds to stop they won't squeak, only when I brake lightly at lower speeds/city driving. I think the pads still have some life so that can wait for now. It is embarrassing tho.

I am 99% sure its from the fronts. Its funny you mention brake parts cleaner...my company used to make that too, but we discontinued that as well. maybe i can get them to bring some of these items back for the MB community!

If I ever get some time to take the car to the shop I will have my front brake for sale. NHT Calipers powder coated black, R1concepts rotors, and Akebono pads. My Brembos came with SS brake lines so I might have my Stoptech SS lines for sale also.

Cool thanks for the heads up. Im alil strapped for cash right now tho. im hoping that they will hold up for a while til i can save up for some new ones.
