This is a clip of Gary (advans) C55 with 3" pipes true dual, no joins. So it's one piece of pipe all the way back, no welds.

I'm going to run 3" between the resonator and muffler just because it's still a 'single' pipe system. If I was running dual I would go 2.25" the whole way. The only time I ever ran anything bigger was on my '81 Z28 with a 400ci, I ran long tube headers to true dual 2.5" pipes into magnaflow mufflers. That thing could wake the dead but damn was it fast

lol. I assume your going to do most of the work yourself, but if not, do you know where you are going to get it done? I'm talking about all the parts your getting, not just the exhaust. Do you have some time set aside for all this or are you going to install everything bit by bit?

After doing all my own work for the last 20 years, I'm going to play government worker and do nothing but supervise this time around. I'll be over everone's shoulders but I'm not going to do much.
First thing will be to send the car to a tuner shop here that I know & trust to do the sway bars, lowering springs, dampners, brakes and wheels. From there it will go directly to a body shop I've picked out to have the rear diffuser properly installed (like you did) along with the front lip and rear deck spoiler. Then it'll go to the exhaust shop (yep, another place) for the headers and new exhaust system. After that I'll bring it home and fab up the E55 airbox design I have drawn out and install that.
I'm hoping the whole first round of mods will be done in 2 weeks or less. I should have the interior done before my shipment even arrives.
So, no, not bit by bit. I wanna get this thing done and enjoy it!

I'm having the interior done at a place directly behind the tune shop (MSW), I'll get the wood trim covered, roof wrapped and front airdam/leading edge lip covered all at the same time. As for the airbox design, I think I've got something half decent drawn up, it'll cover the solenoids and s/s tubing if I decide to go "that" route...
*edit* Sorry for the threadjack Andy, once all my crap arrives I'll start my own thread, I promise

Believe me, that makes two of us! This has been a great lesson in patience for me. I'm back to driving my C class again now - my bad tire month ended up presenting a new problem...

I'll reply on my 'bad tire month' thread as not to hijack Andy's thread anymore than I already have.
