Bad tire month
Today, driving my CLK to a morning meeting, I again feel a tire going down and luckily there was a petrol station immediately in front of me with a tire shop next to it. Drivers rear was hissing. I left the car and took off to my meeting then returned afterwards - only to find that not only was the driver rear flat but also the passenger front. The tire shop guys found 2 spikes in the front tire, one causing a tear and a spike in the rear that exited the sidewall, so, another complete set of four PZero's for it today too. Here's the real kicker though, I decided to check the spare to make sure it was okay & it was flat - the f'in valve stem is split and it's a different size than the valve stems used on the primary wheels - of course they don't have this size... Have to go to MB afterwork and get one now.
I'm glad I only have two cars, if I had three I'm sure it would need a whole new set next
But yes, fresh tires, I have a feeling the ones on the C class are going to last a lot longer
Fantastic grip and ride quality on these PZero's, worth the price.
And like Dyno said you need a new route to work my friend. Sue the city maybe? lol

two days ago my friend bumped into my front passenger side exploding the wheel and the side.
I wanted to hit him!!! the insurance doesn't take into consideration tires so I had to change it too. for the moment I have a yokohama tire at the back and a BF goodrich at the front, while the other two are bridgestone adrenaline....I have to change them all and they have less than 15000km!!!so I feel you bro...

The price came out to about $350USD each (average price between the 265's and 235's installed). They are a softer tire but on my C class they have turned out some really good life/milage considering the brutal heat here. This is an really tough place on tires and the PZero's have, IMO, been fantastic.
*Update*
We all know ***** happens & I was going to replace the tires with PZero's anyways but I wanted to do it when I got my new rims, it's just a hassle changing them out again later. Good news though, made it through the day without another flat

Now that the moulding release hase been scrubbed off the tires, the grip is really incredible, the difference between these and the Dunlop is night and day. Also, the difference between my C and my CLK (same tires) is also miles apart. Now I'm reallly looking forward to getting the suspension done and getting out on the track!
First of all, the mistake was me not taking the car to the same place I took my C class for tires - a very reputable shop with a great group of guys (same mega shop that has a bodyshop and exhaust shop that will be doing my other work). When I got/was getting my flat I pulled into a tire shop and got tires from them - the guys working the shop are as mechanically inclined as a carrott.
Anyways, I had some vibrations so I took the car back to have them rebalance the wheels, as soon as I left I heard the weights get thrown off into the weel wells and vibrations all over again. Went back, they did them again and I left. Next day the vibrations were so bad the steering wheel was bouncing out of my hands. I said f' it and took the car to the shop I should have gone to in the first place, my guy took all the wheels off, rebalanced them and put them back on - but he had bad news. The idiots at the other shop somehow managed to snap off THREE lug nuts in my rotors, the rear passenger wheel only had three f'in lug nuts holding it on! Then, he said that they somehow mixed up my MB lugs (spherical) with a selection of conical lugs - each wheel had a different mix of them. Furthermore, several of the rotor lug threads were stripped and two of my AMG wheels are damaged on the lug seats.
End result - the car needs to have the rotors, all the lugs and wheels replaced. Since I have all of that about to leave Canada, I'm not going to do anything but leave it in my garage. Good thing that I really enjoy driving my C class, sucks for the wife though, she can only use the car when I'm out of town, but, it's usally 3 days a week. We'll get by.
Oh, and the pin heads that wrecked everything - I brought the car in like that...

The brakes were gonna get changed out anyways as were the lugs, but so much for selling my AMG wheels now, I'm not going to unload them on some other poor sap. I know I'm not going to get anything out of these guys, I've lived over here and other places like it long enough to know the story. Over everything else it's myself that I'm really pissed off at.

The good news - the lugs bolt into the brake rotors on MB's, not a wheel hub. In other words, I replace the rotors and I'm good to go, replacing 3 wheel hubs would have been a massive pain in the a$$.
There's the silver lining again...
